I had been travelling around all of europe for nearly a month when I ot to Zermatt. This beutiful little town, 1400 meters above sea-level, surrounded by mountains and has the Matterhorn in its backyard, was surely the top of my trip. And the character of the town is enough of a reason to go there. Everyone in that town was wery helpful and nice. I encourage everyone planing a travel to the alps to go there, if only for one day, just to see how beautiful it really is! |

hostel is getting a little worn through from many hostellers passing through it. ifyour looking for a place to crash after a day out kiking or skiing/snowboarding then its ok but if your looking for a kitchen to cook your missing out. has got a fridge, a microwave expected to pay to use. |

Make sure you take the Gornergrat train up the mountain - spectacular views of The Matterhorn and great photo opportunities. |

Zermatt is Brilliant. A must see and do for Switzerland. SO much for the entire family to do or even just the odd traveler going solo. Transportaion to Zermatt can be difficult if you do not reaserch it prior. Accomadation is affordable at the Matterhorn Hostel!!! Night life is some of the best I have ever been to. A tip, bring your own food, pack sandwiches, things really are not too cheap in this town. But that is what you would expect. |

Greta place to stay, though beds a litte hard and location steep. Good value for money, staff friendly, good food. |

Zermatt is a beautiful resort town tucked away in the rugged alps. For sure the best location for a fun ski trip. |

This is an excellent city to go to if you love the outdoors. Also if you are going to go skiing and you are a begginer I really wouldn't suggest doing it, because even the easy pistes were difficult. However it was ridiculously beautiful at the top of the mountain. |

Expensive to get there and expensive to go to the top but if you have the money it is an amazing place.
Expect to spend: 170 F from Geneva to Zermatt roundtrip
85 F to go up to the mountain
and 50 F on a nice meal with a drink
Don\'t forget the icecaves and dress warm. |
