The language barrier was a bit difficult at first but easliy overcome with a bit of effort- i would def recomend hiring a mountain bike in the Tatra mountians- The tourist info centre can give you information on this- it is stupidly cheap and great fun- was a nighmare riding up a mountain for 2 hours but that was all forgotten coming back down the hill.

The town gets a bit tedious after a day or two. Come here if you want to get into the hills!

Zakopane was brilliant. An amzing gem nestled at the foot of the majestic Tatra Mountains. The 3 hour train journey from Krakow was softened by the lovely fresh air and the amazing scenery. Well worth a visit. Try to ignore the touristy feel to ome of the restaurents there; try the food, try the beer, and enjoy yourself until you don't ant to leave.

Wish we could have stayed a little longer. There were a lot of walking trails still to be explored! Definitely a place to come to if you're a keen hiker - and it's apparently good for the ski season as well.

This is a great place to get away from it. It has lots of offer - shopping, eating, hiking, scenery, drinking (mmm warm beer!) Thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Zakopane is set in the foothills of the Tatra mountain range, bordering with Slovakia. At any time of the year, there are several outdoor activities available (walking, skiing, tobogganing, cycling etc). The town is a tourist paradise & swarms with school groups & small groups. Souvenir stands line the streets & there is a large market at the foot of Gubalowka Hill. Despite this, the place still retains a lot of charm & provides an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. We found most residents very friendly & only too pleased to help with polite enquiries.

Highly recommend that you visit this place if in Poland. Get more of a feel for Poland then just the cities! This place is great for hiking or even just leisurely walks enjoying the views. It has a fun-factor feel for all members of the family.

Most of the attractions were closed for maintenance. The tourist office didn't know what we were talking about when we were asking how to get places, they were more interested in internet shopping than helping us.

The city is really pretty, people are nice and friendly, there are lots of outdoor sports to practice and lots of places to go out... There's life on the main streets and it's peacefull and charming everywhere else... I loved it ! And it's not expensive at all ! I just wish I could've stayed there a bit longer.

I think Zakopane is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.I went there in november,a good time to go,cause this place is truly beautiful at this season with all the white thick snow dressing the landscape, not very busy season, low season. But that is anyway when I prefer it,nice and quiet.

Wicked place to just look at and enjoy the sight of. Great for a stroll, too. Small enough to get to see within a day. No rush, either.
