I took the Italian Renaissance and French Impressionist tours as well as listened to one of the art historians give a... more If you visit the National Gallery of Art in DC be sure and check their website before you go to see what tours or special art talks are going on during the time you are there. I took the Italian Renaissance and French Impressionist tours as well as listened to one of the art historians give a talk about a couple of Canaletto paintings. Each lasted 1 hour and I got so much more out of my visit than from just reading the guidebook. If you don't check the website before your visit, they also have a printout at the information booth when you first enter the museum that will tell what is happening on that day.close
