An absolutely fantastic hostel. Very very friendly staff and an exceptionally clean place. I was very pleased with my stay at the Gallery Inn.

Location is fantastic & very safe. Staff were absolutely lovely. Great continental breakfast. Super clean & more like a hotel stay - only drawback if you're on a budget is no kitchen or laundry facilities. If you can afford to eat out stay here it's lovely.

The staff is not patient enough. The young black staff is rude and has no civilized manner. With almost the same room rate, I strongly recommend their neighbour Hilton hotel to stay. Their staff is very kind and professional.

Nice place, but a bit noisy as 1) walls are very thin and 2) if you have a room on the front side of the building you hear the traffic quite a lot

Value for money for budget accomodation. Six in a room is a big adjustment for me but the other residents are also very considerate. The other offer of one/two persons ensuite room at higher price looks very good - will use it the next time.

The best ho(s)tel I've ever stayed in. Close to bars on 18th street, 10 minute walk from metrostation Dupont Circle, very clean rooms and helpfull staff.

Lovely hostel! Guy at the desk was very nice and helpful. I stayed an additional two nights and he was completly fine about it and let me stay at the hostel till late on the night of my departure and did not charge me for an extra night. An excellent hotel. There's no fun in hotel but for us was better because five minutes walking we had lots of restaurants&bars. We need quiet when we want sleep. Only 5 minutes walking from/to the subway. Calm and elegant neighborhood. Room of design.

Lovely staff, lovely rooms and all in all a great experience. Well-located - a 7 minute walk to Dupont Cirle metro and restaurants and Adams Morgan only down the road

Excellent clean hostel, but no Common area and no kitchen, but u hav a flatscreen in each room and a landline phone. Highly recommended hostel, Ill come back!!!

Very nice room, lots of space per bed, good shower, very clean. Only downside was no lockers. Good location near Dupont Circle, lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Very happy, would stay here again.

If there was a room for people to ahng out in / surf the Internet / etc. after the staff office room closes at 10pm, this place would be perfect. Traffic can also be heard near where you sleep. I just came from DC where spent 1 night in this awesome hostel. I was lucky as f-ck to live in such a fancy place for just about 50$. I stayed in a 6 dorm room,room is bigger than i thought,also a flat TV inside the room. and pretty clean,too. it's really just like u stay in a hotel. Then u don't feel dangerous when u walk on the street at night time. If I go to D.C. again, I will choose to stay here.

I enjoyed my stay. The only problems were I felt there were far to many people in the dining area at breakfast time and I was not sure whether I was allowed to cook or not at dinner time with the way the member of staff cooking treated me. Staff at check-in were very pleasant!

Breakfast is doughnuts, chocolate chip cookies, bagels, bananas and white bread along with peanut butter, jam, and honey. The OJ was mixed with Tampico (like Sunny D or other punch). No common area - just the kitchen to sit in for talking. Wireless internet is very fast and sheets and towels are changed every night, bathroom is very clean and carpets are very nice. You do have to pay hotel tax upon arrival which is not spelled out if you book through hostel's website. Roommates were very nice but on my last night the staff put an extra bed in the room for one other person which made seven and did not offer any less money or explanation to the six who were already there just an apology the next day, not so impressed with that. Other than that the staff was helpful and gave maps of Washington DC with good places to go and places to stay away from. Free soap and shampoo in the showers was nice but another reviewer said that there was a shower downstairs, this is true but it is in a tiny bathroom next to the kitchen where there is no sink and they are currently storing lots of things (towels maybe) in there so you cannot use it. I think for the extra money maybe it is worth it for the nice neighborhood and housekeeper but not for the breakfast or any of that stuff. Next time I might pay a little more to stay by myself or less at a different place.close

Absolute fantastic - it was just like a hotel but with 6 beds in the room. The employees were just the most lovely and helpful people, so kind it was surprising. Great breakfasts too. Some lockers would have been nice though.
