The hostel is close to the train station and the metro, but it is a bit of a walk to the center. The staff were never anything but helpful and accomodating to us. There is a building next door for laundry and cookıng that is a very quiet place to relax and spread out. This is a place mostly for young people looking to party and meet people, not so much for 30-somethings needing a good sleep. As most places seem to be expensive in Vienna, if you are not staying long, it seems to be worth the value and the price of earplugs.close

by far one of the best hostels i've stayed in. they've managed to make what is basically a hotel feel like a cosy hostel. the bar and free wifi were helpful when the weather was miserable. we had a four bed all to ourselves for a few nights even though we booked a 6 bed...amazing place!!

I had a great stay here, the bar is a great place to meet other traveling folk, and the room was comfortable with a good shower. I hope the Aussie guy I met managed to cheer up... if anyone knows him, let him know I was asking for him would you?

everything was fabulous, but the safe room next to the service desk was a little too easy to get into. i think you should require ID or something, and maybe watch the person going in

In General, Wombat's city hostel Vienna-The base is a warm and convenient hostel special for backpackers. But it's not easy to find out the correct location at the first time. Staff are nice and warm. I do like their work attitudes.

Good hostel if you want to be on school camp! thats the problem with these large hostels as they cater more for the large school/college groups..so it definately runs the 'back to school vibe'! breke was really good!! try not too get a room on the bottom two floors (if you can) as you will be up...

Everything you can expect from an hostel, nice abd friendly staff making nice cocktails yet... Nothing negative about it, on the contrary, the bar is a nice place and the web access is cheap. Comfy rooms, packed with all a backpacker or a group or friends ,ust have to have a nice stay in Vienna....

Reception staff were friendly and helpful and everything was clean, but bar staff were quite unfriendly at times, and the bar was a bit too loud to feel comfortable going in there on your own, didn't really feel like a traveller's bar. I think this is definitely a more group-orientated hostel, as it wasn't great for meeting new people.close
