The palace housed the Doge's and political institutions of the former republic of Venice. Also contained in the building is the bridge of Sighs which connects the palace to the old prisons. The architecture is a mix of Byzantine and Gothic.

It's in San Marco's Square and you haven't absolutely to miss it; I suggest you to book that in advance with the guided tour because in the high seaso the queue could be really long; inside it's freat and the guide will explain a lot on how the Venice Republic was sophisticated and also loads of... more It's in San Marco's Square and you haven't absolutely to miss it; I suggest you to book that in advance with the guided tour because in the high seaso the queue could be really long; inside it's freat and the guide will explain a lot on how the Venice Republic was sophisticated and also loads of tricks that the Doges were doing in order to have and keep the power; wonderful paintings inside and look always at the typical venitian old floor.close
