Initially built as a castle in the 9th century, 'Palazzo Ducale' is a Venetian Gothic building that was home to the Doge (Duke), the highest political figure in Venice. I found this to be a really enjoyable museum it has a great range of both paintings and sculptures without being overwhelming. The layout of the gallery makes the whole collection accessible although it was quite busy the day we visited. Well worth a visit, the whole collection can be covered... more

Rialto Bridge can be considered the centre of Venice; it can be crowded but from there you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Grand Canal; I suggest you also to admire it from the botton side of the Market.

Modelled on the Church of the 12 Apostles in Constantinople, it's a great place just to pop into and take a look around. Things to see include St Mark's Treasure and the view over Campo San Marco from the balcony. A welcome break from the crowds and the sunshine.

You can have a tour on the Grand Canal with a Gondola but it will cost you a lot, or with the vaporetto, much cheaper; the tour is incredible, looking all the wonderfull building facing the Grand Canal it's simply incredible.

Is not one of the most visited things of Venice and it's a big mistake because it's absolutely one of the most wonderfull and amazing cultural things to see; there are three sale in the building all painted by Tintoretto; he painted walls and ceiling and for me is the Sistine Chapel of Venice.
