A bit of a cliche when it comes to cities, but there really is nowhere else on earth like Venice. Lots to see, some good resturants (if a little expensive) and some bars too. Serious amount of love in the air though! |

Exactly what you expect and maybe even a little more, a truly unique place. We got the train over and when you step out of the station you literally walk into another world. Every little (and I mean little) street is picture perfect and although it does get pretty crowded with tourists you can always find somewhere quiet just off the beaten track. A place that everyone should visit at least once! |

It is a lovely city, It was really cold when we were there in november but we enjoyed a lot as it is such a beautiful and romantic city, people are so friendly and food is fantastic, I'd definitely say that it is the most special city in Italy. |

The most pictoresque city I've ever been...Venezia is unique! Always crowded of tourists, very hot in summer, so cold in winter, a lot of humidity, famous to be very expensive, and not so good food.
But than we have San Marco, Canal Grande and all the little channels, Murano, everywhere in Venice is art and history. You have to go there to understand what I mean. |

Lovely place. Short time spent here but it is lovely. Like a secret garden, with allys and squares. Well worth a visit. Lively atmosphere during the day. Some parts a little quiet at night though. Extremely easy to get around |

The little wine shops that fill up your water bottles are amazing. Other than that you can probably see most of Venice in 2 days. Besides being overpriced in almost every regard, you end up being stuck on the little spit of land unless you have $$$. |

A must be seen place. |

La ciudad es preciosa pero para mi gusto es demasiado cara, sea para lo que sea comer, comprar calquier cosa...en fin pero es Venecia!! |

They say Venice is everything you imagine it will be, and it truly is... and more! Romantic in an intellectual way and so visually appealing. Will go back in the future! |

Despite the touristy feel, Venice is something out of this world! Its true, you must get lost and find your way back to wherever you may be going...you must also try a \"Spritz\" a Venice drink :-) |

If you\'re in the mood for a lot of walking and seeing a city like no other, Venice is the right place. Although there\'s not much to do, you could spend hours getting lost in the alleyways and in the beauty of the canals. You always manage to find your way back to the Rialto Bridge or San Marco Square. It\'s a great getaway. |

This city is extremely expensive. But it is definately a city that is worth a visit. You must visit Burrano, the city of lace, it is definately a lovely island that has a lot of character and charm. |

I hope that the one car-free capital of a former republic won\'t drown because of the pollution made in all the others.

A wonderful place to visit though things are pretty expensive there. |

with no cars or roads this city is made for walkers (and boats!!!!). be prepared to and just walk ... you willl never get TOO lost, it is an island after all!!! and some of the most amazing sights are to be found off the tourist track (areas recognised by the lack of mask/glass shops, no yellow signs pointing towards s. marco or p.rialto, and the locals hanging out thier washing or gathering in groups to chat). keep your eyes open and look in all directions at every corner, you never know what treasure or photo op might be lurking!!! |

a very nice place to stay |

Venice just rocks!!! the best are the vaporetti and all those great museums and the food and the gelatti and the coffee!!! good, i would love to live there!! |

some cafeteria out to con tourist. Be careful on the cover charge, service charge and on top of that, a more expensive meal charges. Lots of constructions going on now in the winter.
Some of the water buses does not have the number written, you have to ask the driver. They don\'t tell you what stop so on a rainy day, you can\'t see the stop name, you have to count the stops or ask by pressing through the crowd. |

Don\'t go to Venice in the winter, especially November. It floods and that\'s when they do all their construction and renovation work. |

Cold, rainy time of year. Floods with high tide and rain. Dreary weather. Not the usual crowds, however. Still, a busy place. Shopping was good, but all the stores started to look the same. Recommend a visit to Murano. Three days long enough to know Venice. No bicycles - thought that interesting. Allleys too narrow; too crowded. Walking around is not difficult - everything is a lot closer than it seems on a map. |

Grocery stores in the outer parts will be closed Wednesday afternoons. |

A beautiful city and suits it status as a romantic place for couples. Views are so breathtaking with so many places to see. |
|

 |
Obviously quite difficult to get around- due to the tiny streets, canals and millions of bridges and tourists- and tourists taking photos on the bridges...But all part of Venice\'s charm. |
|
|
 |
For sure Venice is the best place in the world!! |
|

Love Venice, but it\'s small, so you really don\'t need more than 2 days to see the sights & soak up the magic of the city. |

Venice is too expensive! |

The city is very nice and you must see it, but going in the summer would probably be best because we were there in November and it was pretty cold!! |

I just love this city and if you want to just relax and get away from the noisy and fast cities, Venice is the place!!! |

There isn't much partying in Venice, but it can still be an awesome city for everyting else. One of the most common places for students is Campo San Margherita and it's also full of great bars...you can get your drinks in plastic cups and just wander around the square and find a nice place to sit. Madigans has great pizza.
Near the Rialto bridge the price sfor everything are higher, but if you really want fruit, there are a million small fruit stands.
Shopping is everywhere and if you wander the less touristy parts , there are amazing mask shops.
WARNING: Try to avoid walking on the Rialto in the rain! And if you do....do not tip toe and do not step on just the edge of the steps! Seriously, I speak from experience---I fell on it twice in a row and ended up with some serious bruises in unmentionable places ;). |

A tremendously romantic city with waterway, boats and canals everywhere. Really appropriate for couples/lovers |

Venice doesn't have much to do as far as sightseeing goes. But mainly what you have to do is walk around and just enjoy the city -- the cafes, the pizzaerias, the gondola rides and beautiful nooks and crannies of the city. It rained and was cold when we were there in late Jan. There isn't much of a night life save a few clubs and not many pubs. It's all right, but you don't go to Venice for the night life. You go to enjoy Italian culture and the beauty of the city. |

Touristy place, but was very enjoyable. Streets were easy to navigate, and walking around Venice made us feel like characters in an RPG game! |

 |
Gorgeous city--absolutely brilliant. I can see how it would be smelly and overcrowded in summer. It was lovely just to wander aimlessly in the tiny streets! I entertained myself for three days, doing just that. |

Venice is really beautiful, it\'s like your dream come true, unfortunately it\'s very expensive (7eur 1hr of internet). Get on the vaporetto and travel around the Gran Canal. Enjoy St. Marcos Church and St. Rocco School where you can see lots of Tintoretto paintings. Go around and get lost in the small streets between the water canals. See the sunrising and sunset in both sides of the Island. Admire Murano-glass-art-pieces and visit the local market close to Rialto bridge. Once you taste Venice you\'ll be back. |

I was soooo disappointed. Its a great city, but everything everything everything is overpriced. I was just terribly disappointed to get there, a dream destination of mine, and it was overflowing with tourists (in february) and just not that great. Its worth seeing, just, be prepared to be let down |

Very over-priced, but still worth a visit. |

Mimo is awesome! |

Venice Fish is a lot of fun. Because of the free nightly dinner the travelers stick around in the evenings, and it\'s easy to meet people. I wound up getting two travel companions and learning a Persian suction massage here. Mimo takes people out dancing and drinking whenever there\'s interest. He shows movies on the computer. The place is a bit expensive, but unless you\'re traveling with a few people and want to split a hotel room, you won\'t beat the price. And the facilities were great. Clean, spacious, safe. Great location, close to the train station and, if you can find your way, a short walk from most places. |
|
|
 |
it\'s over priced, and unless you\'re into 24/7 shopping and eating there\'s really not a whole hell of a lot to do. granted, it\'s a \'must see\' so you\'re bound to go there anyway, just make sure you don\'t spend more than one night. |

Not the best hostel i\'ve stayed in. On each level there\'s 6 dorms/2 baths and no ceilings so you can hear EVERYTHING! It\'s a fun hotspot for school trips as well, there was at least 4 schools while i was there so you felt like you were at camp. The breakfast was literally a roll and a drink and if you wanted more you had to pay extra! You also weren\'t told anything for example you\'re kicked out of the hostel between 0930-1330 everyday! Is a great location though and is ok for a few days in venice. |

Venice is beautiful and a very romantic city. The canals and the old buildings almost going down in to the water were amazing to see. We would definitely like to go back and would recommend a trip down the Grand Canal just for the views!! |
|
|
 |
Just ride down the Grand Canal on the boats and you will understand the magic of Venice. It is charming and wonderful and overwhelming and relaxing all at the same time. Even flocks of middle aged tourists couldn\'t ruin the beauty of the city! |

Venice is a city to visit if you like walking about randomly. Don\'t visit if you\'re not prepared to get lost regularly. My review says shopping is good, but that\'s a bit misleading - shopping is good if you\'re into glass, gelato, wine and designer gear. The first three I was fine with! There wasn\'t a lot to see in Venice unless you\'re into churches, but you can occupy yourself for days just wandering about, which is equally interesting from my point of view. I definitely wouldn\'t say it\'s a city for \'chilling out\'. There\'s nowhere to chill, for one thing! But as a city to find a nice ristorante, overlooking a canal, for a glass of wine and some good food in the early evening... it can\'t be beaten! |
