Otherwise avoid. The place has been run for a long time by three elderly women of amazingly different shapes and sizes (plump, medium and stick thin) and they think nothing of telling you what you are having to eat, regardless of what you actually want to order... They do try to foist the dish of the day on you or the ready-to-go antipasti that saves the kitchen time, so be warned. The food is mediocre by Italian standards and the place itself very basic. Which is why the constant flood of tourists through its door is hard to explain, other than they don't know what they are letting themselves in for, or they do and they have a certain masochistic streak... It does lend the place a certain atmosphere, mind you, but overall the experience is not one I care to repeat. One other thing - forget dim romantic lighting - it is harsh and unforgiving. The deliberately rapid service also means that you are not expected to spend time here gazing romantically into your partner's baby blues over the pasta or whatever. No, they want you in, removed of your money and out again as quick as they can manage. Fine if you are in a hurry, I suppose, but otherwise thanks, but no thanks.close
