Its name means "The bunch of grapes" in Venetian dialect and the restaurant itself specialises in local dishes from around Venice and along the Adriatic coast. The risotto here is the best I have ever had. They used to do a wonderful risotto from the Istria region (now part of Croatia) but I haven't seen it on their website menu, alas. Not to worry, their other dishes are excellent so if you like good food, this is the place to come in my view.close

This lovely villa is on a side canal just off the Canal Grande. The rooms are well appointed, the furnitue is antique, the place is elegant and classy and is unusual in Venice in having a front and back garden, the back one being especially lovely. The front is where you breakfast - only watch out for the local pigeons which have learned to dive bomb the tables given half a chance - i.e. leaving it unattended for even a split second. This part of town is quiet and romantic and the walk through Venice from it at night in particular is heart-stoppingly beautiful. The staff are courteous and efficient and all in all it is in my view an ideal place to stay. But don't be fooled by the word "Pensione". A Venice pensione will set you back as much as a four star hotel in some other resorts, so be warned!close

   We met a local couple at a bar in the city one night and they told us that this was the best place to eat that they had ever been to. We checked in our travel guide and found that eating there was, "a leap of local faith and an excellent splurge…” needless to say we where intrigued! You have... more We met a local couple at a bar in the city one night and they told us that this was the best place to eat that they had ever been to. We checked in our travel guide and found that eating there was, "a leap of local faith and an excellent splurge…” needless to say we where intrigued! You have to ring and book in advance as it’s only a small place, in fact it looks closed when you arrive (Just a non-descript door really) and you must say a password (Given to you over the phone) before you get in!! This was an incredible experience and one of the best nights eating I can remember, afterwards you are invited to drink a shot of ‘Grappa’, sing dance and have a great time!close

   Absolutely a great restaurant, really fresh fish coooked in Venician style; is quite expensive but it's worth it. Have a taste also of their cheese selection, served in a really professional manner by their "cheese-expert-maitre". The place is nice, really close to Rialto bridge.

Prices are quite reasonable - for Venice - and it's a lovely place to spend lunch before or after looking around the glass shops.close

   This was a good meal it is one of the more expensive restaurants but then in Venice sometimes you feel like everywhere is I must say we enjoyed out meal so no complaints for us but then we are not fusy eaters - but I did enjoy it and love this square.

    All the guides list this restaurant for pizza. As a result, I checked it out and saw why. Pizzas are good and not too expensive, which is saying something for Venice.
