Very very very noisy! The noise from the nightclubs outside is intolerable and lasts until gone 3am. No free evening meal either.

2Location great if you can cope with the noise from the pubs and clubs neighbouring the hostel. Rooms are very dusty and floors are cracked, plumbing seems bad. Needs a full refurbishment really.

– posted on Nov 2008 8I think this must be the worst hostel I have stayed in so far. The noise was terrible...there was supposed to be a no noise policy after 11pm which no one took any notice of. The location was really bad...nearest shops were a good walk away. The cleanliness was not good..the bathrooms were...

White Blue is a Modern Greek restaurant. It has an extensive menu - with both main meals (big portions if you're really hungry) and mezze style plates (for those who aren't so hungry but want to taste everything). Good, hearty food. The bar has an extensive cocktail list and the cocktails are delicious! I would recommend dining outside if the weather...

Tully River, Whitewater Rafting100%
So worth the money - it is all day and they feed you half way through the day so don't be worried about stuff. It is full on and the adrenalin is racing for most of the day. Be warned the rapids are one of the highest grades 3-4 and can be full on but it just brilliant. If you love adventure then you'll love this!

Castle Hill100%
Climb Castle Hill in Townsville so you can get a view of the whole town. It's quite a popular form of exercise with the locals who will be seen at all hours of the day running up and down the road or the goat track. If you're just in it for the view, walk up the road (3km) or drive, but if you want a bit of exercise take the 'goat track'. It's clearly...

Sailing100%
Every Wednesday night from 5pm the Townsville Yacht Club offers twilight sailing. It's free, and you just go along and board a yacht with whoever happens to be going out. Take some cheese and wine and enjoy the evening on the bay.
