Not a bad budget option. Rooms a bit musty and dowdy but the location is good.

First off, the owner wouldn´t let us see the room prior to paying for it. No wonder... the room was gross (pubic hair on sheets, sinks, carpeted bathroom, holes in the linen) and he tried to give us the one room without a.c.. For a.c. we paid an extra 5 euros, but the room was still filthy. Do not stay here. When you get off the train, you pass tons of hostels/hotels with much cheaper rates. For the same price you can stay at IBIS hotel.close

Good location, right off of the hip rue du Taur. The owner is really nice, but the hotel seems to cater to older tourists. The accommodations are excellent for the price ... and include nice extras.

The room smelt heavily of moth balls and we both ended up with flea bites. Door hanging off bathroom cabinet and shower only had one side of the screen attached.

It was cramped, there was mi8ldew on the walls and none of the plumbing looked particularly safe. It was quite an interesting experience having a shower without flooding the bathroom due to lack of space and positioning of the various plumbing devices. However, the patron was very welcoming and I feel with a bit more updating this could be a very desirable place to stay. The bed was comfortable but you needed it once you had lugged heavy suitcases up 2 flights of perpendicular stairs.close

This was a lovely little hotel. Old fashioned in its ways but we felt very safe and respected there.
