It's just one of the many business hotels you find in Japan, sometimes called "Ryokan" to attract foreign tourists. The area is boring business environment, but central and easy to reach from Tokyo station. The room was clean and o.k..

1) It's actually a nice hotel, with a traditional on-the-floor-style bedroom. The singles are *huge* (for Tokyo). 2) This is really a Japanese hotel--not a hostel. Only one spoke English beyond being able to bill--this isn't an issue, but it's different than your traditional hostel. 3) There is no English on the front door, so be sure to bring that excellent map from their web site, because you are unlikely to recognize the stylized Kanji in front. It is in a fairly convenient location, and (like most places in Tokyo) is close to numerous food offerings. 4) If you have a lot of heavy luggage, ask for a first-floor room. There is no guest elevator! 5) I never figured out the breakfast. Is it included? Don't know, and too hard to ask. Did find that you have to book the breakfast ahead of time, even though the restaurant is attached to the hotel. . .close

I really liked the japanese style rooms. I will encourage any person visiting Japan to spend at least 2 nites in a japanese style hotel. Staff was very riendly but struggled speaking english. The Ryokan was in an excellent location. The room definitely had the feel of a tradtitional ryokan but the inn had more the feeling of a hotel. It was very clean and nice and the perfect quiet break from the hostels.
