Daimachi is excellent, great staff, very traditional, friendly and welcoming. Bekkan is a slightly further away, less cozy, staff are also as equally friendly.

It's not the same at the Daimachi branch where it was only available during the normal front desk hours. It was hard to find Morikawa the 1st time from the Hongo Sanchome stn. We asked someone on the street to find it for us but the local people there were very nice and helpful. Also a walkable distance to Akiba!close

aside from the location of the building itself (its a bit of a trek and a little confusing to locate amongst all the backstreets)this is a joyous and wonderful place to stay. I can't remember when staff were this helpful and the traditional onsen-style bath is to die for. A real gem if you're...

Good all-round experience. Traditional style rooms provide that unique feel for those not venturing outside of Tokyo. A little noisy with people getting up in the night to use the bathroom facilities, but otherwise very decent. Try out the family bath!

make sure to be in the main building (bekkan) and not in the Morikawa, since it is much further away from the stations and does not have the nice garden. nice is you have the hot spring bath downstairs, even if there are probably others nicer decorated

The staff were amazing and the place was wonderful to stay in. I would definitely recommend. The instructions on how to get there says Hongo Sanchome, when it would have been better to say Kasuga exit A6. We got lost using their instructions.

If you've never stayed in a ryokan before, you might be a bit surprised. You're visiting Japan, though, so experiencing something new is definitely worthwhile.

Good to experience Ryokan, but alittle too far from Hongo-Sanchome subway when you have to drag your luggage.

There are 3 in the area so the other 2 may have been a better find but we did not feel comfortable @ the location we stayed. Felt like intruders rather than guests and it was kind of creepy. The bath was in the basement, the lock on our room door took a generic jewelry-box like key so we felt like anyone could have entered and there was activity in the halls all night long. Bathrooms did not seem too clean.close
