what a shame you have to pay for everything in here! the laundry, the dryer, the kitchen electric device and even the shower, which is tricky, you ca n stop the shower but not to long otherwise you loose your credit!

The metro is close, but it takes more than 30 minutes to arrive to real city center, and it costs 190 JPN (you have to pay higher price than the normal 160 JPN). They don't clean the rooms in every two days, as they promised. If your needs are poor, but you want to pay less, this is your hostel.close

Ok - recommend staying elsewhere. While the area is not dangerous by Western standards, it's not particularly welcoming. Showers are 100 yen for five minutes and you sleep on tatami matting.

Very nice and friendly staff. The room is clean. The common room is tight. The location is a bit far from the city but if you like the Japanese style hostel. This is one that should be recommended.

It was not as nice as I expected and the front desk was not very helpful. I requested a recommendation as to a good location for a tea ceremony. The girl did not seem to have any idea as to what I was talking about even though I'm sure that I'm not the first to be interested in this cultural...

The common spaces are a bit small, for example to dine. I also think that the shower should be included in the hostel fee.

I like Ueno a lot and it was a short hop away from the metro. Free candy at the reception was great. Didn't like to have to pay for the shower. Also, my room smelled like wet dirty socks, which wasn't so great - other than that smell, the hostel was clean.

After traveling from cities across Japan from Tokyo to Kyoto, I can say that this hotel is the best priced for what they have to offer. Very cheap for hotel in Tokyo with highly defined standards.

If you are wanting to check out the sites in Asakusa it is a sure bet. The hostel was clean and the staff professional. I traveled to Roppongi by sub and from the hostel it was a 30 minute ride. Not bad for Tokyo. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Tokyo!

Really friendly staff and tidy rooms. The location is a bit off, but if you dont need to go home every 30 minutes, its no problem at all. Just takes 15 minutes extra. Highly recommended if youre looking for the fun of a hostel with private, clean rooms.
