Then try The Hague instead. It's a very pleasant alternative, smaller but with some interesting buildings. It is quite a cosmopolitan place, given the numbers of international organisations and diplomats based there. The government buildings (Binnenhof) are very impressive, as is the art collection in the Mauritshuis (Vermeer and Rembrandt among others) although the entrance fee was rather steep. The central shopping district has something for everyone. Surprisingly, the Hague doesn't have a large student population, having few third level colleges, so the nightlife is a little bit on the quiet side. The Scheveningen district fronting the sea is popular in summer, with its promenade, seafront cafés, bars and restaurants and gaming halls. Worth an overnight stay at least.close

The best place to stay in the hague! its a flat (!) with balcony, bathroom, ir-sauna, dvd, tv, bedroom, kitchen. veryvery nice hosts, beautiful decorated rooms, great view from balcony and bedroom (very quiet), best location, everything you need! we felt like its our real home! dont think!...

Appartement Royal Den Haag 96%
I love this lovely appartment very very much! If I go to Den Haag again, Appartement Royal is the ONLY choice for me! And of course, I will strongly recommend it to all of my friends!

Jorplace is defo, YOUR place, it's just like being at home... Breakfast was good, rooms were clean, it has a very relaxed atmosphere and I felt totally at home.

Stayokay Den Haag (The Hague) 81%
This is the best hostel I stayed in. Only downside is they charge for internet access, and lots of other hostels don't.

– posted on Nov 2008 3Very clean hostel. Ensuite toilet & shower were convenient. 8-person room was spacious & clean. Staff was a little impersonal, but I found that to be the case in every hostel I stayed. Restaurant & bar were clean & convenient. Dinner was awful and overpriced. Breakfast was great.
