Phangan is a good place to stay but it's smart to rent a motorbike to get around...I think the cheapest way (the local taxis/tuk tuks) rip you off at night charging double the price. I would recommend getting out of Haadrin and exploring other parts of the island. Didn't go siteseeing at all, the beaches were nice enough for me!close

The FMP is a must and afterwards a relaxing stay in a remote bungalow to chill on the beach but apart from that there isn't really much more to do. On the beach stalls charge 300B for a smirnoff or gordons small bottle and mixers but all the bottles are opened and no doubt filled with cheap stuff so beware and also a taxi generally costs at least 100b per person even for a 5 min ride. All in all Koh Phagnan is a must see especially for a party (Full Moon Party is a must for any traveller to Thailand around the 3rd of every month)close

A beautiful island thats not really taken advantage of by most. Used for the full moon party home and massive nights out this is all the island is seen for. Although it is brilliant for this, going over the mountainous centre and to the waterfalls and valleys is a must with some gorgeous lagoons...more A beautiful island thats not really taken advantage of by most. Phanganburi Resort 87%
Nice place, 2 pools, one overlooking the sea. Walk into town not too far. Only problem we had was our trip to Phuket booked through them. They said we would arrive in Phuket at 1.30pm, we didn't arrive until 6.30pm!

Silvery Moon Bungalow 87%
The staff was very nice, and the bungalows were fairly clean. However the toilet does not flush, and there was no hot water. The loction was not good. It was very difficult to get taxis to take you to and from. It was not within walking distance to the city and there was nothing around. Not even...

Mai Pen Rai Bungalows 84%
Location is very remote - good if you want isolation, not so much if you have medical emergencies! :-) The electricity being cut off twice a day is a nuisance, and the bungalows are pretty basic. Staff are friendly and food is good

6This place is a special find, stay here, and you will find paradise, cheap, and removed completely from the more mainstay route, which is what we wanted. Food amazing, and owners really friendly. Would definitely come back here.

Smile Beach Resort 82%
This was an awesome stay.. if you are staying outside the full moon times. The 45 minute drive to haad rin is a little far if all you are using it for is that. other than that this place is higly recommended, the food was good and the staff were excellent

Great location as far as being close to the pier...Staff were really helpful and friendly. Our room reeked of cigarette smoke, and our friends' room has a nice surprise waiting in the toilet upon arrival. Other than that, fantastic place to stay!
