The only negative thing during whole stay, was a couple of days of unexpected bad weather. Still, we didn't allow that to hold us back from having a great time. Lots of choices in activites and places to relax for all age groups.close

fantastic. Got up-graded to a room by ourselves which in hindsight was probably wise. Extremely friendly and helpful. Thankyou

– posted on Oct 2008 1Excellent place if you don't want your typical hostel party scene. Shared bathrooms were super clean and good hot water. Kitchen is big and has all utensils. The couple that runs the place are really helpful and friendly, they even give you free mcdonalds breakfast vouchers. highly...

Taupo Urban Retreat 84%
Pretty much all you want in a hostel. Great staff, great location, great amenities. Not as fun as Base, but still pretty tops.

Berkenhoff Lodge 81%
A very well run, clean, friendly and atmostpheric hostel. No complaints whatsoever. Would recommend to anyone

Base Taupo 79%
Location is central, very new, great showers ensuite, 4bed dorms are not really big. Only thing i really didn't like was the bar downstairs witch is noisy as hell, you're vibrating in your bed (if you don't join the party) from 15:00 pm till at least 02:00am. If you do want to party, are not...

Tiki Lodge 77%
Excellent hostel, close enough to the town centre but away from noise etc. Very clean, friendly staff. And a really nice view!

Tandem Sky dive at 12,000ft what better way to see a place :) Unbelievable and would without a doubt do 15,000ft next time. Do it.
