The zoo has a lift up to the top in a cable car, then when you're there you get to see all sorts of animals, gorillas, monkeys, kangaroos, even have your picture taken with a koala. There is a cool section there with snakes and spiders if you're brave enough for that sort of thing, and also seals, penguins ect. The weather was hot too while we were there, it's a fantastic place.!close

As zoos go it’s got a great setting, I was there back in 2000 and went back again last year. To be honest a zoo is a zoo to me, I seem to go to them everywhere but anyway getting to and from Taronga is half the fun. To be honest a zoo is a zoo to me, I seem to go to them everywhere but anyway getting to and from Taronga is half the fun. You get a ferry from circular quay and get to enjoy excellent views of Sydney Harbour, particularly on the way back. From the zoo itself the views are amazing have a look at the picture, I’m sure my sister won’t mind (sorry Elaine!)close

The one thing that visitors to Taronga Zoo always commend on is the amazing view that the giraffes have – and they’re spot on. The zoo is located in one of the best vantage points in Sydney so be sure to take in the views of the city as well as checking out the animals when you visit. It’s located a very short ferry ride from Circular Quay and the entry fee for a full day is $32 which includes the return ferry trip and the cable car or bus from the ferry to the entry gates if you don’t feel like making the climb.close
