Excellent place to stay. as the name suggests its a hotel not a hostel. the 4 bed dorms were spotless great loctaion walking distance to main places. worth the extra cost than a reg hostel

There were insufficient instructions to operate it. Poor lounge/relaxation area. Good to have staff at the desk at all times.

This is really great. First of all,you can disappoinment,but 1or 2hours later you will realize there really clean and conviniency and good location. And If you don't mind pay about internet fee, You can use your lap top in your room.

if you want a nice CLEAN hotel rather than the noisy backpacker atmosphere, of most hostels in the cross or on pitt st, then stay here. Fantastic location, just near Oxford st, and Hyde park and a few minutes walk to George st and the CBD.. would definately stay there again.

it's a great place like a hotel with towel and breakfast. If you are looking for a party hostel it is not the right hostel ;-)

The location is fairly fine with 15 mins walk to the city. The room is very clean. and you get a clean towel and a soap every day which is good. But the staffs were not really helpful. At the last day of my stay, they asked me to move to female dorm. when i tried to fix this out at reception, i was very unhappy with one of the staffs there. She was very rude to me when she lost her patience coz of my "non perfect" english. Although the hotel is quite a bargain and good location, I will NEVER come back there again since her bad attitude. I can cross my heart what i said is all truth not blackmail.close

Y Hotel Hyde Park is really a good accommodation. Everything here is fine. If I have chance to come back to Sydney, I'd choose it again. I do love this place.

I'd recommend www.hostel.com for booking. It's very difficult to book in the reception or over the phone. I liked the place because it was clean enough, quiet and VERY well located. It was both a hotel and a hostel, but the style was more like a hotel (very small kitchens and no real place to watch TV or socialize) so if you want to socialize and meet people I would choose another hostel. The 4 bed dorm had four single beds, no bunk beds, and the beds were very comfortable. Some of the staff were really good, some were average. But I can understand if they were not always so nice because they seemed to be really busy.close

rooms were ok, bed was kinda uncomfortable. found some bugs around in the room so cleanliness is not the best. hey, but it has AC so that's good!
