It's not the cleanest place ever, but not to bad for a hostel. I rhink it's good value for money espacially when you have Hyde park right outside your door.

There was a pigeon flying around the kitchen and and insect ran out from under the toaster. Also, the bed sheets were old and worn out and my dorm mate said there was an insect in her bed in the middle of the night. Also the bathroom was a bit minging. But the lady on reception was very nice and...

If you come alone you won't be alone for long ;) I would recommend it to anyone coming to Sydney, looking for a good location, a good atmosphere, a good mixture of age and nationalities!close

I wasn't able to make the barbeque, even though the staff knew i'd kept asking.I was away on a tour, and wasn't able to pay.I thought it was unfare, and was not allowed to pay when i returned.People were in their own countries group. What a pity. This hostel ranks 3rd out of the 3 i've stayed at.

STAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's an average hostel all around, fairly decent location but nothing to rave about. Just be warned, there are stairs, a lot of stairs. I do not recommend this hostel to anyone traveling with a medium-large heavy suitcase

The matrasses are like rock. There is no elevator and you have to climb 3 small but high stairs to get to reception.

The hostel was in a great place and the receptionist the most helpful I encountered in all of NZ, but my bed was horrible. The mattress was actually a box spring, and the pillow was absolutely disgusting. It looked like it had been thrown up on.

The kitchen is a bit small and you have to get used to the hard matress but the lovely and great staff, the good location and the really good athmosphere makes all up for it.

Small but very friendly hostel, lots of nice long termers, The stairs are a MISSION and it is very basic, cheap and cheerful, but alot more personal than your brand spanking sterile new uber hostels. Reception fantastically helpful though 'laid-back'. Not super clean.

Having the reception be on the rooftop was a bit unconventional. Definitely have alot of flights of stairs to climb and it isn't all that accessable if you have a heavy luggage.

My friend and I were given different rooms even though we booked well in advance. On your first night in a new country, this is the last thing you want! Plus all of the security "lockers" were taken. The night manager was unhelpful but the day manager was great!

The manager (Cindy) of the hostel is really friendly and she can also help you to book cheap tours as well. Note for the owner (not the same person as the manager) some of the facilities really need some attention (some of the bathrooms, kitchen, etc) and the old clothes-dryer should be replaced.close

Although it lacks in some facilities it more than makes up for these in character, this hostel is truly one made by the people there. Everything is done on the roof over looking the Sydney CBD. It's just great if you want somewhere to feel at home, well put it this way, I booked in for 6 days and ended up staying more than a month and working there. Have a safe journey everyone.close
