Not the best hostel I've stayed in but it's a bed amd you get breakfast so what more do you need? Just a warning, Kings Cross is Sydney's Red Light District, I only found out when I got there!

I'll never stay here again. It wasn't my style. It seemed old and dirty... definitely an old college dorm type of place. Lots of freebies though

Wicked fun time, lots of friendly chill people, and once you get over the dodginess that is Kings Cross you realize how great it is. and Funk House was the perfect place to be to enjoy it, average, typical hostel rooms but lots of character overall

Had a fun stay at this place - the other guests were really friendly! In a bit of a dodgy area, but most hostels in Sydney seem to be in the Red Light District. Definitely come back and stay.

The rooftop was full of weed smoking bums who couldn't ever manage a hello. The area itself is full of crack-head lowlives and drunks. An entertaining place to observe from the safety of a room window! On the plus side, breakfast was good because it never ran out. You also get a welcome pack with vouchers which is pretty handy. All in all - ok!close

Only concern was waiting 1.5 hours for the $3 shuttle bus that never came. Not the hostel's fault, but don't rely on it.

The dryer and washing machine although cheap to use made the clothes smell. The carpet was a bit smelly in some rooms, they should rip it out from the place completely. There are the only complaints that I have, everything else great, staff very helpful and friendly.

If you're looking for a good time this is the place for you! If you're looking to get your head down and sleep you may wish to look elsewhere. The rooms are clean and well maintained cooking facilities however are not. Expect smells later in the day and filthy work tops. The rooms are non smoking but there appear to be issues with this policy. Expect a smoke filled room if you're on the top floor and have the windows open. Tokers heaven it certainly is!!!!! Long term stays seem to hold sway over the staff and appear to get away with a lot. Staff are helpful though and definitely pleasant. Will we be back? No! Too many first time away from home kids running riot.close
