Breakfast only until 9.30 is the only thing to contain. Nice to sit outside, meet people and have a good sleep at night because it has not been directly at the main street. Excellent hostel, nice staff.

where was the breakfast?! i don't consider bread and jam and cereals a breakfast, you should have better said it was not included. the blankets one per person, but it's winter, if anything a doona for each person would be better.

Had the best stay, great nights out, but in a bit of a dodgy area although close enough to walk to centre of city.

I had an awful stay here, there are long termers living here which makes for a very clicky and awkward atmosphere. You don't really feel very welcome. The staff are very unhelpful. It's clean enough and location is ok, but I wouldn't receommend this place.

Great location, and overall enjoyed the stay here, only bad points were that the rooms were cold, and the hostel had no extra blankets for us, and the showers were not great.

Loved staying at the Jolly Swagman. Just enough out of the way to miss the big city bustle, but close enough in that you can walk to the CBD in no time. Kings Cross Station was right there and that made it even better for transportation.

The rate in internet via hostelworld wasn't the same as I were asked in reception. That was the only problem. Anyway hostel is good and clean.

A fantastic hostel. Stayed here for weeks and had so much fun. There are special drinks promos and nights out with the hostel crowd or you can sit in and watch a dvd. 5 mins from trains. Sydney harbour is less than a 15 min walk away and is beautiful. Some interesting locals in the alleys and...

Our only complaint would be that it was very noisy all throughout the night, most nights. I appreciate there are a lot of 18 year olds out to have a good time but perhaps staff could have a bit more control over them?

The staff were amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and the little touches like lights for each bunk/ fridges in rooms/ lockers in rooms really made a difference. It was also the cleanest hostel I have stayed in so far! really really impressive!

Drunks on the PA notwithstanding, we very much enjoyed our stay at TJS. The staff offered excellent suggestions and the Goodie Bag was much appreciated!

We had a lovely time here. We were upgraded to a twin room when our pick up was late. Nice and quiet room even though there was obviously going on for those who wanted to party. An excellent place to stay, if you want to see a slightly different side of Sydney.

Helpful and friendly, typical of Australians it seems! Could have used more vacuuming, and maybe wash the blankets sometime?

Everything fine. Clean, fun, quite neat rooms, good value for money. Upper class for Australia ;) I wish, other hostels before would have been like that.

We had some problems and misunderstanging regarding the pick up from the airport. I would sugest the driver of the bus to have already the list of people he needs to pick up. He couldn,t find us, we didn't know which is our bus and we was waiting hours at the airport. Viorica and Victor

No air conditioning!! don't go to hostels without A/C if you go to Australia in the summer ! Also the double deck beds were too tall and without a good ladder so if you are on the upper level you might have to wake up everybody because you are doing acrobatics to get in/out of the bed!

I thought this was a very nice hostel, however it is located in Kings Cross & I really do not like that area, it's not too bad during the day, but at night it's just full of prostitutes & Junkies!
