Reviews of Glenferrie Lodge

Glenferrie Lodge has a rating of 82% from a total of 58 reviews and ratings, below are some reviews of Glenferrie Lodge

As Glenferrie Lodge is located in one of the wealthy suburbs of Sydney it's comparable to a hotel considering the rooms, breakfast, etc. One should watch for special offers for rooms as the regular pricing is pretty high. It's still in walking distance to The Rocks and the Opera House.

it was nice the first nite there. but then i had to move to a room next to the laundry...this should be a discounted room not worth the full rate due to the amount of people who use this facility from very early in the morning. cheers.

I think this place would be good for families but it is quite out of the way, the taxi drvers wont take you form the Milson point train station because it is apparently too close but when carrying all your gear it is a bit of a hike. On a plus side it is near the prime ministers residense. Taxi...

It was more of a pleasure than a chore to catch the ferry across to the city everyday and a good chance to take some great photo's of the Opera House and the Bridge. Very nice and safe residential area. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and facilities adequate. I did find myself having to use a different bathroom in the hotel as the bathroom closest to me was the tiny. Would stay here again if I was to visit Sydney and wouldn't bother looking elsewhere.close

I loved the lounge, dining area and outdoor garden to relax in after the busy days exploring Sydney. I would recommend this lodge to other travellers particularly those on their own because it had a homely and friendly feel about the place. It was so easy to get transport nearby so the holiday was...

Lovely!close

Although they showed availability online, we were later emailed to say that they didn't have availability.

My single room was quite stuffy as it only had a small window and a poor fan. This did not help my jetlag and the humidity was high. Breakfast average. Staff nice though.

Not the typical "backpacker hostel" we are used to (no booze/party nights etc.) - but it was a welcome change. Clean, tidy room and helpful staff in an excellent location! Nice to have some peace and quiet.

A lovely hostel with large, delicious breakfast included. Staff helpful and friendly; very tidy and good linens and mattresses, with clean common rooms and a pleasant courtyard. Very easy access to downtown Sydney by the ferry and a quiet neighborhood. Most enjoyable stay.

A 3-star hotel for the price of a hostel, the building is a gem and the staff are helpful. There are restaurants and shops around 10 mins walk away, or you can eat a decent dinner and dessert for $10 (available most nights). Breakfast is also very good. The one letdown is that none of the rooms have showers, or ensuite. I've stayed in hostels all over Europe as well as several in Australia, and this certainly rates as one of the best.close

The location seem out of way at first glance, but the frequent and short ferry service guarantee convenient access to Circular Quaye, in fact found this arrangement better than live in King Cross area, plus guarantee quiet neighborhood for good sleep.

Very friendly and homely atmosphere. Staff extremely helpful. Location superb....only a 15 min walk across the harbour bridge and 10 min journey across the bay via ferry. Superb views across the harbour ...particularly at night. Would definately recommend. Mike

Great as a chill out. Well away from Kings which is both good and bad, but for the first couple of days it is a great place to be. And its two doors away from the Prime Ministers residence. 7 minutes on the harbour ferry gets you to Circular Quay and what a way to travel.
