As for bang for you buck, Geneva is the home of wealth, so don't expect your money to go far. But the only thing budget about Geneva, is the number of budget airlines flying there. Thats what makes Geneva. It has lots of money, & everything, right down to the street furniture is about being the best, not most cost effective. If your on a tight budget, its still worth getting checked into a Hostel, buy some food, rather than eat out, & just walk around the streets. The shop windows & culture will keep you busy for at least a few days. Take a look at the super expensive jewellery & watches, & marvel at the Swiss confectionary, & the architecture of some of the banks.close

Superb location, very civilised, smart and provides a wonderfully relaxed and safe environment for all ages. You don't have to be rich or spend lots of money to enjoy Geneva. There is something for everyone. The Swiss are both welcoming and organised. Although there are people from all nationalities living and visiting the city, it was a lovely blend and still had the Swiss feeling of cleanliness, order and calm.close

Nice hotel, but seemed to be in the red light district ;0) This was not a problem though.

Top Rated Geneva Restaurants

  1. Café de Paris100%

Very famous restaurant in Genevea that offers to his guests only one single menu: - Entrecôte (rib steak) with special cafe de paris sauce - Amazing French Fries (all you can eat) - Green Salad Its always very crowded so when you go there, try to go early. If you like a good meat, be sure to go there to try it, you wont regret it. The price is 38,00...

  2. Chez Ma Cousine Restaurant80%

In an expensive city, it is great to come across a cheap, quality eatery in the tourist thoroughfare. And so I stumbled across the quality Chez Ma Cousine restuarant slap bang in the centre of Geneva's Old Town. For chicken lovers, you can get a 1/2 chicken with provencal herbs (that tastes of chicken), home made wedges and green salad for CHF 15 (€10) -...

  3. Sawasdee80%

Went there on the excellent review the Rough Guide had given it - "best Thai in Geneva, worth the trip out on tram alone.....great value etc.". Now, having eaten there, the food is good but I've had just as good if not better Thai for a lot less. Standard main courses (e.g. green / red curry) with steamed rice for approx. €25 - which is cheap enough by...

Top Rated Geneva Attractions

  1. Old Town of Geneva / La Vieille Ville de Geneve100%

The Geneva Old Town (La Vieille Ville) is a step back in time. The cobblestone streets, old buildings, sidestreets and old signage has not changed in decades. In the centre of it is Geneva Cathedral (Cathedrale St-Pierre) but other attractions include l’Hôtel de Ville - and soak up the atmosphere of the place. Unmissable on your trip to Geneva.

Top Rated Geneva Bars

  1. L'Ethno Bar80%

Nice chill-out bar at Cirque tram stop, on the edge of the Old Town near the Grand Theatre. Drinks priced ok for Geneva, although they increase at nightime. Seems like a local and expat crowd.

  2. Les Brasseurs70%

Part of a chain - popped the head into the Geneva one. Very average - as per its Lausanne pub, a touch of the English pub chain about it.
