This museum, dedicated to the salvaged remains of a medieval ship, is a good place to pass a few hours. Nice exhibits, well laid-out, and an interesting way to find out about this period in the city's history.

Skansen is a huge park, quirky (look out for the cabin on stilts) but very artificial. Best visited in sunny weather as you could happily spend a day pottering around the grounds. A good place to visit if you don't have time on your trip to get out of the city.

This former electric power station(!) was transformed to a mosque in 2000. It's an interesting building drawn by the well known architect Ferdinand Boberg in the early 1900s. Now the mosque is a busy Islamic cultural centre. It's open for visits Mon-Thu 10,30-17,00. Great place to go for lunch or... more

Contemporary high quality art in a large gallery - a perfect stop if you are walking along the water towards Gardet. Or if you are on the tube - get off at Gardet, exit Frihamnen and walk from there, or catch bus 1.

The concert hall right in the middle of Stockhom, full of concerts all year around. Mainly known for their classical program (home to the Stockholm filharmonical orchestra), but when you look through there is a great variety and great quality music. Several cafes in the building and a well... more

Independent theatre studio, always with creative different shows on. Stage and the whole venue is small and intimate. This is theatre with a mission - the people running this place wants something, they want to make a difference, make people meet and share life experiences.

Great modern art! Nice building and the shop is great for new creative stuff and art books. It used to be free in, but now it's about 80 SEK... that's a bit hefty if you're not spending hours and hours...
