Stockholm has become a city of design, fashion, innovation, and world-class food. The streets are flowing with a young people keen to drink the newest trendy joint. You can sense this energy as crowds that pack the street cafés discussing life over an espresso and from behind designer sunglasses.

Stockholm is a great city especially when you can island hop!Highlights for me were the Absolut Ice Bar, a game of ice hockey and a stroll around the quaint town of Gamla Stan.

It's a very enjoyable city, although things are a little more expensive. With the size of the city, it's definitely walkable. People are friendly and helpful. English is widely spoken for those who don't speak Swedish.

Nice place, lots to see and do, but you need a lot of cash. Cheap bites are hard to find, and the public transport system is neither cheap nor simple. Worth visiting, but expect to return broke.

Stockholm is on the expensive side, but it's still a great city. The clubs are fun, there's tons to see and if you visit in the summer, the weather is always nice.

Stockholm is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. Besides the city itself you can also travel to the archipelago for the natural beauty. Also, the old towns of Sigtuna and Uppsala let you get a feel of travelling back in time. Stockholm has a comprehensive and accessible transport network and there should be no problems whatsover in travelling around by public transport. I would recommend Stockholm to the keen and discerning traveller.

With so many other places to see in Europe, Stock holm doesn't stack up very high. Comapared to other Scandinavain cities, like Oslo and Copenhagen, although smaller, have a better atmosphere and have more things to see. Stockholm, however, is a shopping paridise if you know where to look.

Worth a visit, but if you're pressed for time in the north, I'd go to Oslo and Copenhagen over Stockholm. Also worth considering is that I imagine Stockholm would be a MUCH better place to visit in the summer. The best part of the city (all the water) was sort of a non-starter in the winter, as it was mostly frozen over. Overall, a world-class city worth visiting, but only if you're looking to fill a couple days.

We really enjoyed Stockholm but found that unless you have money to burn and are over the age of 23 going out to bars is not in the picture. Otherwise the city is wonderful and we had an awesome time wandering the streets of Gamla Stan.

I'm swiss, and even I think Stockholm is very expensive. Not very tourist-friendly, hardly any signings, if you don't exactly know where the museums are, you have trouble to find them...

Stockholm is a beautiful city, especially with a covering of snow. It's very quiet and not a city to go to if its a party your looking for and late nights!! However there are lots of museums to visit and the old city is lovely to walk around. It would make a lovely family destination if you rented an appartment and cooked your own food. Very child friendly city and very organised and orderly.Would love to go again in the summer and go on a boat trip around the islands

The hardest thing to understand was the money because everything is done in hundreds. a dollar was equal to about 7 sek.. and a euro was about 9. besides that the shopping district was amazing, especially if you love H&M, they are everywhere! The people are also very friendly and they usually spoke perfect english, incase thats an issue. What i loved the most was the town at night. I felt comfortable walking around and getting a view of the ships on the frozen water. Beinf able to sleep and wakeup in a boat was a wonderful feeling, just something different and comforting than a usual hostel.

The buildings are simply amazing. It rivals Venice. There are definitely areas for shopping and areas for sightseeing. I'd suggest staying near a T-bana station (the subways) and buying day passes, which get you on the busses, ferries, and T-bana (2 ferry rides = 1 day pass, so it seemed worth it). Good restaurants can be more difficult to find, and alcohol is expensive (maybe more expensive than Dublin). But with that in mind, take plenty of film or memory cards. The place is stunning.

Stockholm is absolutely beautiful, even in the winter. It's on the expensive side, but you should know that before you plan. The subway and bus systems are easy to navigate, but it is much more enjoyable to explore the city on foot.

The City can seem a little deserted at times, but don't let that put you off. A lot of venues are tucked away and don't look impressive at first glance but they are! Very polite service everywhere. The City can be explored very easily on foot or by public transport, it is spread out over 6 or 7 main islands. Very laid back with beautiful buildings and lots of water. Prices are generally quite high, but no more so than in London. Well worth a visit.

People think this city is really expensive but it's not that bad. It's cool the way it's spread out over loads of different islands. I visited in November though, when it gets dark really early. Visit in the summer when it stays bright until midnight!

Accomodation was warm, clean and comfortable but a few things kinda bugged me about the place...it\'s advertised as bed and breakfast but you have to pay extra money for breakfast, there was no headboard on my bead, no side table and there was very little soaps and gels available in the bathroom. There was also noisy guests one night, that affected a good night sleep. Apart from that it was clean and comfortable. It\'s maybe about 3 mile from centre but trains run regularly to Alvsjo station and it\'s about 10 min walk from there.

I\'m italian, and I think that Stockholm is fantastic, and citizens are more fantastic...all people speak very good english and they help you whenever you want, sweden girls are indescribable...too beauty to say something...Only two thing are not very good: security make a very strong selection to enter in disco or famous bar, and spirituous are too expensive...minimum 10 euro for a bottle of wine...

Not that good for sightseeing as barcelona and paris, but if you want to have a great time and you don\'t care about sightseeing: go to stockholm! The people are great and so is the night life.

It\'s a beautiful city and the people are friendly and really helpful. Lot\'s of antique/second hand shops with good bargains. But... The subway is crazy. You have to buy really expensive tickets that are only valid for 1 hour. Most museums don\'t have any translation for what\'s written next to their exibits. Eating is really expensive and most restaurants (including McDonalds) are closed by 9pm.

most sightseeings are gathered around the city center area. the old town is fantastic. summer is a better season to visit sthockholm unless you are going to do snow sports. however, the winter there is not as cold as it feels in oslo and helsinki.

It\'s a very weird experience to sleep in tis hostel cause all the rooms are old cells of this prison which has been renovated to a hostel. Very strange but a thing to do one in your life !

Stockholm is a nice old city with a lot of places to visit. The weather is not that cold in February but the highlight would be the heavy snow downpour that awaits you. Walking around city is very easy. Tube, ferry or bus are not necessary unless you want to travel further away from the city center. 3 days to nights trip is enough for you to see most of Stockholm best attractions.

Basically Stockholm certainly serves as the paradise forthose who love cultures and museums. In the meantime, the efficient mass transit system in the city really makes the journey more pleasant and convenient for backpackers.

Beautiful city, wonderful in the summer (trips to the arcipelago, GRONA LUND, djungarden, view of Gamla Stan...), less in the winter if weather doesn\'t allow you to stay outside. Cheap food (Korv med brod...) is really good and easy to find, but if you are looking for a restaurant, expecially in the centre, prepare your wallet!

Well, it was really cold when I was in Stockholm but it seems like a great city and I need to go back in the summer time to really see what it\'s like. The hostel was fine, clean and a full kitchen which was nice because Stockholm is really expensive especially since I am from the US and the dollar is so weak.

I LOVE STOCKHOLM! It was snowing when i arrived and the place was paved in white..really beautiful! The old town is so quaint and lovely..i had a chance to visit the vasa museum and the skansen...skansen is a place where all the old swedish buildings have been moved to, depicting life in the different eras...you can go into the houses, see what it\'s like, talk to the \"people\" who are also in costume, buy pasteries from them, see the animals etc. Very fun day out! Also, the shopping there is not bad, HnMs are everywhere...there are also many big shopping centres to visit and makes a good shopping area. Also, don\'t forget to take a boat ride, even if it is just to get somewhere. It is a most beautiful experience with a lot of fresh air and veryvery nice people who are willing to help you! I recieved help from at least 5 people in the day that i was there. I love stockholm! Definitely worth visiting!

Stockholm is a beautiful city. We were blessed with lovely weather (May) and most of our activities were child orientated. Don\'t miss SKansa - and spend the day there, we went too late and were disappointed. Junibacken is also brilliant for kids. The Hostel was scrupulously clean all the time - we were sharing toilet and shower facilities and they were never dirty. Though I found the atmosphere here a little like a hotel - not really a meeting spot for travellers. The kitchen was huge. Immaculate and well stocked. Also, you could rent a fridge of your own for about €2. Really good.
