Description of Castanea Old Town Hostel
Welcome to Castanea Old Town Hostel, one of the most central hostels in Stockholm. Only 200 meters from the Royal Palace in Gamla Stan and near tourist attractions, shops, cafes and restaurants. Castanea is also close to Central station - only one stop with the underground. Castanea is a small personal hostel, located in the middle of the Old Town (Gamla Stan), one of the world's best preserved medieval city centre. Castanea is a modern hostel in a charming building from 1747. With a beautiful horse chestnut tree at a small square just outside. We have 55 beds, in single rooms, twin rooms, 4- and 6-bedded rooms and one dormitory. All rooms has shared WC and Showers. In our dormitory we have lockers, bring your own padlock or rent from us. We have a popular guest kitchen for your own cooking. *Sleeping bags are not allowed* Sheets and towels could be hired (65 SEK/person one time fee) or you can bring your own. Please note that either way bed linen must be used. Sleeping bags are not allowed due to hygienic reasons. We have guest computer and free Wifi (in most rooms). In Castanea smoking is not allowed, nor is animals. Open all year. Check-in: 15.00-18.00. For arrivals before 15:00 or after 18.00 please contact us at least 2-4 days before arrival to arrangefor check-in. Cancellation Policy is 24 hours before arrivaldate. This means that if you do not cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the date of arrival, we will charge you for the first night and cancel the rest of your stay.
