If blankets could have been provided, that would have been excellent, but a very enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Very close to the Old Course and St. Andrews Links (10 minute walk) and the bus station (3-5 minute walk). Concerned about the security of the building itself. I was outside the main entrance smoking a cigarette and the chef from below (the hostel sits on top of a restaurant) opened the main door with a knife and it didn't take him more than a second to perform this task. Granted I had seen him in the hostel before so I don' think he was sketch but something needs to be done about that. Overall though a good place to stay (keep in mind it is the ONLY hostel in St. Andrews).close

was extremely disappointed to come back after a night out to find the staff sat in the common room playing extremely loud music and smoking weed. not conducive to making guests feel welcome unless they are also stoners. we were in room 6 which was also very cold.

Ok place to stay, reception closed from 3-6pm so no entry to hostel possible in these hours. Kitchen fridge is just a small bar fridge, we were there when it was quiet so there would be no room for cold food storage if it was busy. Good dining/lonuge area & free WI-FI. No bag lockers or cages...

Not too bad, but by far the worst hostel I stayed in while in Scotland. There were quite a few shady people staying there, but the staff was friendly.

Good location. The mattresses were pretty uncomfortable and the shower leaked which made the bathroom a bit messy. Also was quite noisy which didnt matter for us as we were out til late anyway but just a comment for other hostellers

The staff were too hungover to be helpful and slept most of the time, their friends monopolised the common rooms.

It is very central (there are only 3 streets in St Andrews anyways...). staff is very friendly. the hostel is closed between 3-6pm each day, so adjust your arrival time accordingly. a big negative? the matresses! old and have apparently been through a lot!!!!!!!!!!!

The hostel was clean, bright and colourful, and the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, right in the centre of town and close to the bus station. Security was the only issue. The rooms had locks but there was nowhere safe to store luggage inside.

Dirty beds, intruder in the room, staff not even alarmed by that, creapy, very creapy. Rather finde some other, better hostel than this, or sleep in a car in St. Andrews, for us this one night there was a horror. And we are not spoiled.

Great location, literally 5mins from bus station. The girl who checked us in is really nice. Our room of 8 was quite cramped. Beds were horrendously uncomfortable and sheets looked like they haven't been changed. However, it's the only hostel in town so I guess there's not much really.

Perfect for what we needed, on the main street, much cheaper than anything else in the town. If you want to eat at the Grillhouse, book early, especially in summer. Good coffee around the corner at Couch and Beanscene.

The walls are rather thin, so if people get back late it's really noisy. The beds are a bit uncomfortable, but on the whole we were positively surprised by the hostel =)

I really enjoyed staying in this hostel. Small and very friendly, everything you need and in a really good location. The only thing I would say is Im not sure they changed the sheets between guests.

Nice hostel for one night. The good thing about the kitchen is that they porvide herbs and oil etc. But it defenitely needs better cleaning in there. Unfortunately there was no breakfast included whereas most hostels do.
