A great location and very nice staff but the dodgy plumbing meant that there was a lingering bad smell in the bathroom. A little shabby but generally adequate.

Beds are very good, the best I ever had and I travelled a lot in Europe.close

The hostel was great for couples or small groups who want to avoid dorms. The location was surprisingly peaceful and in a very central position, though the walls are a bit thin! Basic but very clean facilities. Thank you to the friendly and helpful reception staff

Definitely not a place to meet other travellers, but a nice house in the centre of Valencia, with little balconies in a typical narrow street of the city... Enjoyed it :o)

our room with facilities (airco!) was nice and quiet. the only critical point are the steps - we need 71 starcase steps to come to our room on the second! so you must have a very good condition. the hostel lies very central for all the things to see and to shop and eat!

If you look for a good place to stay in the heart of the historical centre, this hostel is great! If you look for meeting (international) people, this is not your hostel, becouse there's no interaction between de staff or the visitors.

Really good location in the centre of old town. Not so close to the beach but its easy enough by bus. Try to avoid staying on the top floor as there are like 9000 stairs.

we had reserved a room with AC, and when we got there they had already booked them all out - we were not happy. In the end, the staff ended up making us a reservation at a nearby hotel and actually PAYING US the money difference... she handed up 50 euro for us to stay in a better place. Unreal,...

we had a good time and we liked the hostal very much. We'd apreciated more ventilation in the bathrooms (for the heat), a proper stopper for the tub and a little maintenance for the steps on the stairs.

We had a nice time in Hostal EL Cid. A kitchen would have been nice, but we manage to do without. The location is perfect, just in the heart of Valencia. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay and do not like to share a room with a lot of people, this is the place to go.

Hostal was clean and staff were friendly however there are 4 floors with no lift and the bathrooms and plumbing in this place is very ordinary.

Close to a shopping area and a bar district. The only thing is that it is generally pretty warm in Valencia, which means in the hostel too and walking up four staircases evrytime we wanted to enter the room was heavy. But the view from our tiny balkony made up for that. The staff is friendly and speaks english well. We liked staying at El Cid, money well spend.close

The room was small, but nice, calm, clean and air-conditioned. Bathroom was small, too, but that's no problem. The only thing we lacked was a place to cook or to place some food.close
