The words 'hospitality' and 'smile' do not feature much especially with the lady/ receptionists at the bar. The British owners though are fine and the place is good value, especially if you are after activities which the owners organize. Walls are rather thin and you can hear your neighbors tie...

Great value accommodation in an excellent area to learn how to ski. About a 10 minute trek to the gondola to get up the mountain, but hardly anything to worry about. There's also a bus stop right outside the hotel. The room was big and clean, the staff are really friendly and helpful. It was really very pleasant there, I enjoyed it much. I also liked the menus for dinner (fondue was especially good :)))

Adorable place! Staff was excellent... very trusting (letting you have a tab etc). Cute rooms and super price! Loved the music in the bar, and the games (chess/checkers, cards). Wish we could have stayed longer!

I was a party organiser for 14 people and we all stayed at 'The Roc' for a week March 2005. The snow in Soldeu was excellent, three powder days and 4 days of glorious sunshine, couldn't have asked for more! The snow in Soldeu was excellent, three powder days and 4 days of glorious sunshine, couldn't have asked for more! We soon got used to the 15 minute hike uphill to the gondola (there's a free bus on the hour if that was a better option for some) It was a shame though that there was no entertainment in the bar with the exception of one night for Elvis (which did rock!...don't miss this one it was hillarious!) The main bugbear we had was that the plumbers were in the week we were there, who really didn't respect any of our party's privacy (with stories from the party ranging from being walked in on in the shower...toothbrushes being moved into the bidet....ceiling coming down where pipe had burst..) poor show from the owners who didn't even offer any of us a discount for the hassle of being forced out our rooms at 9.30am every morning to let the guys in (would have been nice to have a lie in given the cheap drink prices!!) The Aspen (for cheap, good pub grub between 2-6pm in the bar or in the tex mex restuarant from 7), Fat Alberts (for live music) and Iceberg (for happy hour drinks) were the haunts for the week, we only tried dinner in the Roc once and weren't that impressed, it was ok, but not anything to rave about. The breakfast was great though. Would recommend the Roc, the place was clean and friendly but it could do with putting on some more entertainment at night.close

Good bar, excellent value food, very friendly staff. Really liked the self-service bar! Great views. Thanks to Lisa for giving us all the information we needed.

Very helpful, as usual internet was out of use they were kind enough to let us use the computer in the main office and let us leave our bags in the room until our bus arrived. Would recommend to anyone!
