Great location - close to the main areas, & easy access to a number of buses. It may have just been due to non-peak season, but the reception & tours desk was barely manned. However there was a number to call the owners & they were great at getting you what you needed. Internet access... more Great location - close to the main areas, & easy access to a number of buses. Internet access required you to have your own laptop with wi-fi. The kitchen & common room area could be cleaner. I would highly recommend the hostel to those wanting a comfortable, quiet place as a base.close

I stayed at Balco Symphony Hostel. Would definately stay there again. Staff were friendly, location was very good, in room facilities were fantastic! Thanks Balco Symphony!

Hostel was good however there were things that they didnt mention on the website that kind of annoyed me, for example the phone in the room, you can get people to call you but you cant call out. its a real value for money! i got a twin private room, it had ensuite facilities for a great price! i also really enjoyed the new refurbishment @ balco harmony making the common room a great place to socialise with other guests! thank you all at balco!

Great rooms, really great value, fairly good location (2 minute walk to the water front), rooms are really clean and well equiped, Owner is super nice and helpful

I have seen a bad comment and thought I will see for myself since I am a Journalist. For 10 Euros it was excellent. Single room with bathroom for me only, TV with lots of channels, I can cook any time, WIFI in my room and exceptionally clean. The room was very dirty. There was dirt everywhere. Reccomend they buy some new white sheets as current bedding is very worn. The bathroom was really bad. Only the sink had been cleaned with the toilet and shower being very dirty. Observed the cleaning staff doing nothing but talking and... more The room was very dirty. There was dirt everywhere. Observed the cleaning staff doing nothing but talking and pretending to work! However, for the price the facilities are very good. The building finish of the hostel is poor - looks like most of it has been constructed as a DIY project. An exception to this are the electrics which were excellent - even down to a seperate fuse box in each room. Need to put a banister on the stair case nearly fell down it 3 times!close

There were no staff ever present to ask questions, etc. Had to make phonecalls, and even then they didn't always answer. Also, the woman who cleaned my room moved all my stuff around and in the process I lost several rolls of film and other things - this is ridiculous; no one should be rearranging my things. All in all, an okay place (decent facilities, etc) but staff was a major downfall for me as a traveller who wanted information, maps, etc when I arrived.close

Just try to have exactly what you have to pay for your book when you arrive (if the person who checks you in can't give you the money back...). Because there is someone at the reception only sometimes.

Very good base from which to move around Malta while being a good distance from the main, busy tourist areas of Sliema and St Julians. Good, relaxed policy of letting people come and go as they please - staff are friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

not that centraly located, no permanent staff and door is locked so if you dont get there when someone is there exactly ( even if they dont here the door but are inside) you could end up stuck outside and having to call. also says internet access, but LIMITED to only when the owners are there...

This hostel is more like an appartment and not like a hostel, very new and with TV and fridge, which you normally don't have. The location is very good, also close to the Valletta busses.

great facilities, 2 per room, TV fridge ensuite bathroom and air con in each room. Cooking facilities and arrangements can be made to have laundry done

Best Hostel i have ever went! the people in there make it soooo great! Joanne was very nice! Damian was Helpful!! All in all .. it is a hostel that you cannot miss when staying in Malta!

A very clean place in a beautiful area close to grocery store, buses, sea, and pubs!! Joanne was very helpful. Everybody was very friendly and like 1 big family especially with Paolo!! :-) If you are going to Malta, this is a cheap price, clean and good place to stay!!

The owner of the hostel is funny and makes you feel at home, the accommodation is very comfortable and more like a Hotel than a Hostel. The price is REALLY accesible for young people travelling on a budget. GO THERE!

The best hostel we have stayed in, facilities in the kitchen and rooms are beyond any other hostel through out Europe. Definately a recommended place to stay.
