Lots of gay couples and a large gay scene, not that anyone in the town bats an eyelid about that. The scene seems to attract somewhat older (and financially better off?) gay men than is the case in Gran Canaria, for example. The town itself is very pretty and has not gone the way of the high-rise nightmares further along the various Costas. Some impresively good restaurants although you have to pick and choose carefully. Perhaps it has something to do with the town being only a 30 minute train-ride from Barcelona, but the local shopping is disappointing. The beaches are lovely and well maintained, however. Strolling along the seafront promenade at dusk is a real tonic. The quieter part of town is behind the church in the San Sebastian quarter - a good place to go for a more sedate hotel stay or evening out. Two local festivals takes place in late August and early September, when the place is heaving. Oddly enough, the weather can be very changeable once into September: you are not guaranteed sunshine every day and it can get surprisingly dhilly and wet then too! But I wouldn't change the place for anything....close

Really lovely place, with lots of character. Host was very pleasant and relaxed. The room was quiet. Very nice street and so close to everything. Loved it, would go back.

Very good indeed, extremely clean and modern, perfect location and also quiet. Landlady is really nice and feels like staying in a family. Only drawback is lack of Air Conditioning, which is fine for me (I hate it, it's bad for you) but I know a lot of people want that.

The owner was a very nice young man that was very accommodating. It would be good to have at least one small bar of soap the first day. I did not realize there was no soap after I was in the shower. jejejeje

Great place to crash after a trip to the beach or a night out. About a ten minute walk to the beach and a five minute stroll to the shops. Great staff, really friendly and gave great recommendations on where to eat. Clean rooms, spacious bathroom, had a small, but great terrace (totally...

The Desk staff were friendly and helpful but the cleaning staff were not that good. My room was not cleaned to the best condition each day. The cleaning of the bathroom was very poor and the bed was not made properly each day.

No way a three star, maybe 30 years ago when it was decorated. Bed bugs, no window in the room, quite horrible!

  1. Mezzanine100%

Luis Senora Luis and Jesus made our five day stay extremely memorable. We dined here on three occasions and on reflection wished that we had done so on all of our limited stay. The food was excellent, the choice of wines superb and the ambiance divine. We intend to return in September and cannot recommend this beautiful establishment highly enough.

  2. Tambucho80%

If the hectic restaurants in the main part of town are too much for you, try this place in the quieter San Sebastian area behind the Church. The Tambucho is a small family run restaurant and offers good plain food with fish and shell fish a speciality. One of the specialities is a broth of lobster with rice - smashing!

  3. Air80%

This is a very pleasantly situated restaurant located down near the church, surrounded by other chic "chill out" restaurants. It is only open about a year but already has a good reputation. The food was modern mediterranean with some oriental tendencies as well - a bit like the original Al Fresco restaurant in Sitges which started the fusion trend. The...

  4. El Zodiaco80%

This in my view is one of the better value restaurants in Sitges. One can get soooo tired of grilled fish in coastal Spain, sigh. This place is inventive and does high quality food at reasonable prices. For starters, try the excellent clams in garlic, or green beans with ham, for example. Good meat dishes, too, which is a pleasant change from so much fish. One...
