Enjoyed our stay; the location is excellent but being Little India it has its own noisiness and other distractions. However, it is an excellent place for the price paid. Would recommend it to anyone.

For the price I paid, I expected basic facilities, like a hair dryer, and more lighting. The water pressure is also lacking. But it's overall a good environment, safe and clean, with a decent breakfast.

I would highly recommend this hotel. Excellent breakfast, free WiFi, clean room, and outstanding friendly staff. Price is fair as well.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Good Location in the vibrant quarter of Little India, about 10 minutes walk from the next underground station (MRT). The room was clean and comfortable, but a little dark. The breakfast could be better.

The Hotel didn't have my booking via the Hostelworld Website but quickly sorted me with a room when I presented them with the reservation details. Close to the underground Station.

As I gathered from the hostelworld site before reserving this hotel, in reality, it turned out to be a good hotel with freindly staff. The location in little India is very convenient.

The room was clean and comfortable but very dark as it seemed to be in between floors and only had one small frosted glass window. It was good to have airconditioning that you could leave on when you went out to keep the room cool as it would have been unpleasantly hot at night without it.close

I think this hotel is often fully booked, it's a shame when people don't cancel and the rooms can't be rented and the hotel gets no money, hostelworld provides a service and they get paid either way, but the hotel doesn't so call if you're not taking your room as other will appreciate the space...

The day before I booked in the single rooms became available which leads me to believe that they fill their most expensive rooms first. The location was ok in Little India but with the MRT you coukld have stayed anywhere. One member of staff was lovely the other over charged me for the internet use and was short. All in all this is not worth the money they charge I feel.close

Perak Lodge is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of Little India, and that is its main drawcard, but it was a comfortable and attractive place in its own right as well.

I was charged double what you said i would pay. I arrived late in the evening and had no choice to pay the extra $55approx. Iam not very happy about this as i am a backpacker on a tight budget.

Our room is very small, with also a very small window that placed so high, so we cannot see anything. I will never forget my husband face and he blamed me because I choose this hotel. We feel that we are trapped and have no choice, because we arrive at Singapore at midnight, and they make us to pay the room at the moment we arrive, strange isn't it? Usually the guest will pay the hotel bill when they are leaving the hotel, am I right. So, after 2 nights (that we have to spend there, because we already pay it), we move to another hotel that bigger, better, and nearer to downtown, with the rate that almost the same, Allson Hotel. (I don't believe it, we only pay SGD 24 more, and the size of our room is triple than before, including the large bathroom with bathtub inside). I will never, never, stay at Perak Hotel anymore! (By the way, the sign of this hostel is Perak Hotel, not Perak Lodge, maybe they want to raise the rate but not the service).close

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. Short walk from station, easy walk to sightseeing - Orchard Road, Raffles, etc. Unfortunately, there is a nightclub a few doors down and we were kept awake until about 3am on a Friday night with the noise. I would still recommend staying here though.

Its a good hotel for the value. Just an issue with the desk staff were not that welcoming to my parents who came to meet us there but were not staying there. Small issue. Most staff were very helpful.

Wireless doesn't work that well in many of the rooms, particularly upstairs. They should change the access point channel so it is not 6 - all of the neighbouring buildings are also using channel 6, resulting in interference.
