“ Standard for Singapore - bathrooms are pretty bad but the same anywhere you stay. The room (double room) was totally decent, had good air conditioning, simple but nice and had a fantastic location across from Bugis market and shopping! ”

“ Our room (number 4) was on the road and perhaps something could be done to reduce the noise level, which was very loud! Perhaps some information on where to go, what to do, and places to eat close by, espcially for later arrivals, or a map to direct us to the food court, woudl be nice too.... ”

“ Hi, I felt like the rooms were dinghy because there was only one window up high in the roof and the walls were painted a darker colour which really didn't help the light situation. It wasn't very relaxing because the rooms were so small and dark. Great location though. ”

“ Very good location, close to the Arab Quarter and Bugis Junction. Also clean. Definitely not the most fun hostel, but if you just want it to sleep... it's just perfect. ”

“ Security into the hostel from the street was via a card system and hallways are monitored by CCTV, however the door to the dorm room I was in did not shut properly or even lock (did not have a key) all other rooms seemed to lock. At least the aircon worked well it was switched on for the first... more ”

“ Be carefull about the old rude housekeeper. She will spoil your stay in the place which is more like a prison than a Hostel. Don't go to the place. 2 Bathrooms for about 50 people. Dirty beddings and smelly inside. ”

“ Excellent location near MTR, shops and Little India and the single room I had was great but the staff were rude and character/ambience/fun was bad. Reception only opens at 10am and is closed all night, a stark comparison to other hostels i've stayed in ”

“ Our 16 people dorm room is facing a busy street and the traffic nearly non-stop all night. Quite noisy. But the location is unbeatable! Convenient to Airport and anywhere in Singapore. ”

“ We received a very poor welcome upon arrival and this tainted our view of this hostel. The best thing about it was definitely the central location within close walking distance of many attractions. ”

“ Bugis was super clean and the location, just down the block from the Bugis MRT station (the subway) was great. The hostel is really clean and reminiscent of one you'd find in Australia or Canada. There is free coffee, tea, and toast available for breakfast and a microwave and fridge for guests... more ”

Read what some of our guests have said about us: 'It has been a pleasure to be one of the first guests at your hostel. I love the simple, cheery, colourful layout of the hostel, especially the bedsheets you chose in the dorm room, and the colours of the spiral staircase at the back. The hostel is easy to find from the MRT Station in a safe feeling part of the city, in the middle of things - a little oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city life of Singapore. The favourite parts of my stay have been the ease of finding markets to wander through for very cheap food in so many varieties to snack on while shopping for almost anything I could want. Good luck in the future! I will recommend this place to anyone I hear who is visiting Singapore, and if I do not get back to Singapore, one day maybe I will set up a hostel in Western Australia for you to visit me. Cheers!' SUSANNE, PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA 'It may be relatively new but Bugis is fab for those travelling on their own with clean, airy, spacious dorms, brekkie, nice tv area and fantastic staff! I'd recommend Bugis to anyone!' ELAINE, IRELAND 'When I came to Bugis Backpackers, I was really suprised to find such a place in the middle of Singapore. I found everything I needed in the neighbourhood and the MRT station was near, if I wanted to get around in the city. Bugis Village, Little India, Arab Street, shopping areas and food courts - everything is around the corner. And the hostel itself is so clean, safe and nice designed, with it's beautiful living room, that for me it's the only place in Singapore to stay.' JAN, GERMANY 'Thank you so much for helping me and all the information. I enjoyed staying with you soooo much! See you next year. With lots of love.' TOMOMI, TOKYO, JAPAN 'Thanks for everything!
