Le Fonti di Pescaia, Siena

strada di Pescaia n°4, Siena (See it on map)

Description of Le Fonti di Pescaia

The building is a two floor liberty style villa in 'Red Brick' , with a large typical Tuscan garden , it is situated only a few metres from the historical "Fonti di Pescaia" and about 10-15min walk from the start of the historical centre 'Centro storico' which you can easily reach on foot. Please note : ' Piazza del Campo ' is a 15-20 minute walk. The villa has double bedrooms with private bathrooms . For a less expensive option we have single and double bedrooms with a shared bathroom (there is one bathroom for two bedrooms). The furnishings are classic and comfortable. Guests' cars , bicycles or motorbikes can be parked on the premises - inside the garden. IMPORTANT: CHECK-IN: Our guesthouse is small and very economic, so we do not have a person always present for the check-in. The best time for the check-in is: from 13,00 to 15,00 and from 17,00 to 19,00. Should you arrive at a different time than advised, you might have to call us to let you in, we will come in a few minutes. After 19,00 we are forced to pay staff overtime, with an extra cost for the Guest of 10 euro. After 22,00, if not previously agreed, we are not able to do the check-in. We look forward to welcoming you to the ' Le Fonti di Pescaia ' rooms and to ' Historic Siena.'

Lovely room in an old Villa house. Bed comfortable, room warm, hotwater average if in demand, staff accommodating but not helpful e.g. providing map or directions or recommendations. Directions need editing, i.e. bus stop is UNDERGROUND Shoping Ctr entrance opposite Train Station, bus driver... more

This is a very beautiful palazzo with clean and big rooms. The house has a nice garden where can you leave the car. The owner was very friendly and helpful, when we called him he was there soon. The citycentre is 15 min. but you can walk on the streets from the 14th-15th century towards the Campo.

I am a senior citizen.Poor directions meant I had to walk half mile uphill in baking sun, dragging suitcase. On arrival, place deserted. Once grand villa and garden now dilapidated and neglected, notice on door to call a number, waited 10 mins+ for woman to arrive. Gave me double room on ground... more

Extremely difficult to find even with GPS! Needs to add name of side street that you need to park in directions. No Fan or air con. Location was great to attend The Paola

Not easily accessible by car. The place is really old fashionned. 15 min from the center but it's located closed to a very noisy street... It's not the best hotel ever but if you're just looking for a bed to sleep, it's ok

Quite basic, but it has some character. The walk to town is uphill, but pretty easy.

The hostel is very near to the city center and I liked the possibility to park our car in the hostels garden. We booked two rooms for two persons each and had a bathroom to ourselves which was great!

Not a particularly warm or inviting place. Located a short walk outside of the Siena's wall so not the worst location ever.

May be not the best place to stay in siena, but not so bad than some of the reviews says. It is ok for a few days, not far away from the center of the city, only 15-20 minutes walk to the piazza del campo.

This place lacked basic amenities (i.e. trash cans, mirror, phone, TV, clean blankets, etc.). The front door lock to enter the villa (to rooms 7/8) was jammed so you could not lock the door from inside the villa. So the door was left unlock or it was lock from the outside, which meant you were... more

This hostel was only about 1km out of the centre of town, and very affordable compared to other more central locations. Many of the reviews we read said they did not have hot water. We discovered that there is a switch to turn the hot water on located right next to the light switch for the bathroom. The distance was a little far from the city center and on a busy road, but other than that we loved this place!... more

When we arrived there was nobody and the central heating was off, so it was freezing (december). We didn't see anybody for 8 days, no cleaning, no changing towels, anything at all. It was too humid and there were damp spots everywere. There was no TV or radio either. I wouldn't call it Hostel.

Se trata más bien de una casa rural bastante agradable con habitaciones muy cómodas y limpias. Está cerca del centro pero en una calle con mucho tráfico y peligrosa si se llega a pie

Great little guest house. We would stay here again. Be careful of the directions. When we stayed they were completely off. We had to ask around in town and were just lucky we came across a lady who knew of the place. But once we found it it was really easy to get back to. Really clean and fresh.

About a 15-20 min walk to the city center, but once there, everything's an easy walk. Very close to bus stops. My room was small, but clean and comfortable. The gentleman who checked me in was great. Only real downside was no internet. Would return.
