The staff were incredibly friendly! the only bad thing were the 8o'clock cries and banging on the door from housekeeping. there must be a better way to work out whether people are in their room than shouting housekeeping till they anser, asleep or not.

My only concerns were that I had scheduled a free airport pick up, but the pick up never arrived. I had to pay $7 for a ride to the hotel. I also scheduled a wake-up "knock" for 7:00 a.m. that never happened. But I had the Villa pizza that was amazing, and everything was very stylish for the price. Again, I was pretty disappointed by the two lapses in service at the airport and in the morning.close

It is the best place you could ever stay. It is not just because all it got to offer, but for all the concept around the hotel. Staying there wasnot just a pleasure, but a privilege.

The rest of the staff were just excellent. Very friendly, spoke very good English, and very prompt. If all goes well for you, then The Villa Siem Reap is a lovely place to stay. However, I would like to advise all future guests - PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN CONFIRMATION ABOUT ALL CHARGES, INCLUDING EXCURSION CHARGES. Do not allow for surprises when the final bill is being added up. Anthony never mentioned to us the full charges of excursions outside of the Angkor area, and then got into a long argument with us, insinuating that we are poorly informed, whereas it was he who had not informed us properly. He also went back on the rate he had quoted over the phone to a couple of our friends who had booked independently of us, directly with him. It is not the amount of money that bothers us, but the principle of the thing. I do like all rates and charges being told to me upfront, and then if I choose, I know exactly what I am getting into. I hate surprises and I hate having to deal with owners such as Anthony. Another sad note about Anthony is that it is quite clear to see that he was treating our group way different than other guests in the property, clearly because our group was from India. During the time we were trying to work out the differences in billing, he kept talking to a couple of cute ladies with small talk about the weather and where in Australia were they from, etc etc, whereas he would have rather dispensed with the small talk and attended to more urgent matters and not leave us hanging for 7 minutes (I was timing it by my watch). In short, a lovely place to stay, but I cannot tolerate the attitude of the owner. Sorry Anthony, I would have loved to give you more business, but I already directed two other groups to other hotels.close

All was cleaned up every day, you had an air-condition (Siem Reap in November is hot!!) - what more do you like. The pick up at the airport was very friendly with welcome drink, the driver we got through the hotel very good and nice. Concerning the food in the hotel, well we are germans. We don't really like this sort of western fast-food. I don't think in a country with this great food you need to take sandwhiches to the temple, we did it the first day and didn't like them, you find quite better - and cheaper - ways to eat in the temple area, the drivers know where. All in all it was a very great Journey, Angkor Wat is great and I will always return to this hostel. It is nice to come back to such an quiet and warm place near to the old market area where it has really great restaurants, bars etc. Greetings from cold Germany to the team of the Villa - we really enjoyed it!!!!close
