This hotel was indeed near the train station, though the neighborhood itself was not great. If I'd had a suitcase on wheels instead of a backpack, I'd have never made it down the sidewalk. If I'd had a suitcase on wheels instead of a backpack, I'd have never made it down the sidewalk. The whole neighborhood seemed to be in a mid-state of being torn down. But convenient, yes. By the way, THERE IS NO SWIMMING POOL IN THIS HOTEL. We were given vague directions to another hotel with a swimming pool that we could use, but we never found that hotel. The hotel itself, though, was really nice. The bathroom even had a bathtub--a major bonus for the tired backpacker!close

Clean nice place to stay in shanghai, tho as the end of 6 months too tired to explore much around. Language barrier a little problem a coupel fo times - kept getting calls to my room when I was trying to get to sleep, and never found out exactly what they were after!

This place is great if you want something very close to the train station. Otherwise be prepared to walk or cab it. The front desk staff told me it would be about 35rmb for a cab to the Bund but their car and driver was 30rmb. I chose the car and driver. Later I learned I could take the bus for... more This place is great if you want something very close to the train station. Otherwise be prepared to walk or cab it. The front desk staff told me it would be about 35rmb for a cab to the Bund but their car and driver was 30rmb. I chose the car and driver. Later I learned I could take the bus for 2rmb and if I wanted to cab it back at night from Shanghai's various locales, the fare was never more than 17rmb. Bus #65 will take you to the Bund and Yuyuan Gardens Bazaar. Otherwise, this place was great. The staff was eager to please and very helpful.close

i would say lost in translation sprang to mind!the menus in the hotel restraunt were all in mandarin also which proved a slight headache but other than that it was fine for what we required as it was close to the shuttle bus for the grand prix

very boaring place - would not recommend staying there, we have sinced moved to Maggies Hostel where its great!!!
