This hotel is in a great location, close to the main tourist parts of Shanghai. Staff speak good English. It is basically a business hotel though so not much else available for "tourists" in the way of brochures etc, but that wasn't a problem.

Given the excellent location, price is very reasonable. The only small bad point is that staff could have been more helpful. But on the whole, I fully recommend this hotel for those who are staying only for the week end and who want to make the most of their stay!

The hotel has a great location, close to the metro, the Bund, etc... Rooms are very standard, we've stayed at hostels in Shanghai with nicer doubles for less. The reception staff was utterly useless (regardless of whether you speak chinese or not).

We found it a little noisy although we are beginning to think that hotels in China are generally noisy. The housekeeping staff were a little eccentric. I had to literally push her out of the room because she tried to push her way in while my wife was dressing. On another occasion (when I was not there) she entered the room while my wife was in atowel and tried to order her out!close

The location is superb and very near the bund and Nanjing Rd. The hotel staff is friendly but the atmosphere in the hotel is rather quiet though. However, we managed to book local tours from the hotel to Hangzhou and Suzhou at reasonable prices!

As everyone before us has said...this location is unbeatable for the price. The rooms are decent (beds are a bit hard, carpet is very old, but has a nice hot high pressure shower). Staff speak a reasonable amount of English and arranged an amazing Chinese Acrobatic show for us to go to. It was...

Neighbours on both sides very noisy with TV blaring until the early hours, but apart from that this place is a fantastic budget place in an excellent location - restaurant good and cheap too!

Great location right in the Bund. The rooms are clean and spacious--especially compared to rooms in Hong Kong! The only drawback for our discounted room (posted rate is about 100RM more) is that our window looks onto a brick wall.

They made us pay more that the reservation we had with hostelworld because they said that it was the holiday golden week. They were really helpless in all our questions (like for example where do we take the bus to the airport, when it was leaving from the hotel in front). we were really disgusted about how they treated us and we are still not sure how much the hotel will cost because they made us pay a deposit using the credit card that so far they have still not retourned. I really do not know where to complain, but they shouls retourn us the difference of money about the reservation we had and the total amount we paid.close

This is an excellent hotel, great location and very cheap for the quality you get. It is however a hotel, not a hostel and so is not great for meeting fellow travellers or for having the facilities of a hostel.

A clean functional bathroom, a not so clean functional room (hard bed), no internet access and the staff spoke little English, but still better value than staying in a hostel.

Room carpet pretty dirty, and my Shanghainese friends say the price I paid for what I got was quite dear. The location of this hotel is great, just a few minutes to Nanjing road. The hotel is cheap, clean and good value for money; but the staff speak a poor english. They have a big problem to undertand that we had already paid some money through the internet, but we solved it. I REALLY RECOMEND IT!

May be because it was spring holidays but the place looked deserted and sometimes thought I was alone in the hotel. Ambiance therefor was killing. Nevertheless great location: walking distance from the Bund. Only reception desk girls spoke a little English.

We walked past the entrance twice trying to find it (it is set back off the street), but once found it was very good!

This isn't a hostel. It is a hotel, but it was still pretty nice and in a convenient area.

The hotel is in a really good location and very clean but they insist on taking a 'deposit' totalling more than the cost of your stay at the outset then refunding you the difference when you checkout! Very bizarre and not good for travellers on a budget - apparently something to do with 'official...

Very good choice for staying in Shanghai for a couple of nights. Good location, low prices, everything you need. To compare with five-stars hotel, where I was before (not my choice), the only difference are the prices. Thank you very much.
