The manager here is very kind offering me the location information so that I found metro.The wireless is free of charge making my work without interruption.I strong recommend business traveler here as it's near to the business CBD within 15mins.The hotel offers an airport see-off service. Reasonable charge, safe and save my time to grab taxi. I will book this hotel next time in Shanghai. Good impressionclose

I booked 3 nights but i only steyed 1 because of the poor location (15 min taxiride) and far a way from nearest subway. The staff didnt speak any english, and the bathroom wasnt very clean either. so a not so good experience and not a very good recemmondation.

really tough time with no english speaking staff. not understanding whats written in internet booking. oH! what a mess it was to make them understand all about my booking. they should have some english speaking staff. otherwise the roomand hotel is good worth for the money.

The main problem I encountered was the lack of english skills amongst the staff. This is symptomatic of Shanghai I think, in that there is a lack of 'support' for the non-chinese speaking foreigner. Not much in the way of signs, and most places that sell tickets to anything don't speak any... more The main problem I encountered was the lack of english skills amongst the staff. This is symptomatic of Shanghai I think, in that there is a lack of 'support' for the non-chinese speaking foreigner. Not much in the way of signs, and most places that sell tickets to anything don't speak any english. Having said that, most people try to help, and the staff at the Oriental City Hotel were no exception. The hotel is about 45 brisk minutes walk from the Shimen Road No 1 subway stop (Line 2), and from there its a quick 2 to 3 stop trip to either the Shanghai Library (where I am right now), the Bund, the Science Museum, the Pudong, or the People's Square for stopping or interchanging to line 1. All in all, I quite liked the hotel, but maybe it could have been a bit closer to the subway :-) CAMclose
