actually, i had a problem i need help with. this is my first time booking with hostelworld (i have friends who use your site all the time). anyhow, i got to the 24k hotel on weihai road in shanghai, and they said they didn't have our reservation. we printed out the confirmation/reservation and... more actually, i had a problem i need help with. this is my first time booking with hostelworld (i have friends who use your site all the time). anyhow, i got to the 24k hotel on weihai road in shanghai, and they said they didn't have our reservation. we printed out the confirmation/reservation and showed them... they wouldn't acknowledge it and said they have never heard of hostelword. they said we should call the police because the site was a fraud (!). anyhow, we ended up paying for an entirely new reservation here at the hotel because it was late and we had no choice. we would like to find out what we have to do to get that initial 10% deposit credited back to our credit card. we will still try to use hostelworld, but this was definitely a frustrating first time experience.close

My stay at this hotel was very pleasant. The best thing about this hotel was the amazing deal that I made: 280 RMB for 2 two people for a king-size bed in Central Shanghai is a great deal. Having travelled around Shanghai for a long week-end, I found the location to be the hotel's strongest... more My stay at this hotel was very pleasant. The best thing about this hotel was the amazing deal that I made: 280 RMB for 2 two people for a king-size bed in Central Shanghai is a great deal. Having travelled around Shanghai for a long week-end, I found the location to be the hotel's strongest point: it allows easy access to the metro system, to Shanghai's nightlife, shopping streets (Nanjing Lu) and really made me feel safe even coming home very late at night. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel price online was cheaper from the one onsite (280 RMB instead of the 350 RMB listed). The only weird experience I had was that the staff was not aware of HostelWorld.com and I apparently was the first person using the service at their hotel. But after having explained that to them (with a copy of my HostelWorld receipt), they were very understanding, even not having brought the credit card that I used to book my reservation... So I recommend that you also bring the credit card used for the reservation to make your check-in faster than mine was. In conclusion, if you want a safe and convenient hotel in central Shanghai without the hassles of a youth hostel, I strongly recommend this hotel.close
