This hotel is tatty and dirty despite the palatial foyer. I was disturbed almost every night by people playing Ma Jong in their rooms with their doors open up to 5am. I was disturbed almost every night by people playing Ma Jong in their rooms with their doors open up to 5am. One of the teacups in the bedroom had water in it when I arrived. These were not replaced when used. The glasses in the bathroom were not replaced with clean ones. They were just hand washed inthe sink! Not good. Toilet seat was loose, towels were threadbare and tatty. The bathroom smelt of solvent so I had to keep the extractor fan constantly on to remove the fumes. There was constant construction going on so a banging noise resonated through the hotel walls from 7am every day. The hallways were dark and dirty. One bad sign of a hotel is when the employees have tags with numbers on them rather than names.close

Upon arrival i had been informed that the hotel did not receive the booking, even thaught i presented the reservation confimation i printed form. The hotel did not recognice the confirmation; that means that i lost that in advance payed deposit of USD 45,79. The hotel did not recognice the confirmation; that means that i lost that in advance payed deposit of USD 45,79. I have a feeling that i will bee charged for the hotelbooking 2 times, the cashier was a very suspect person.The reception staff showed an attitude which could be defined as not consumer friendly. Restaurangstaff was helpful. Asking about the hotel manager to file complains gave negativ resault. Even ouer chinese hosts which actet as translater , did not suceed to relief the situation, i feel that depends on the unwillingness of the staff. For your information my booking number was 6212-1904571. The hotel is a priceworthy alternativ to city hotels , there are good restaurants in the erea; and there is good communication to the city center.close

Would be nice to have staff if not speeking too much english at least understanding it somehow. Also I would expect people at the front desk to bee at least a bit friendly. Hotel itself is very clean and nice!

This is quite a good little place for the price. i went alone and so had to pay the supplement but if you are travelling with someone and you dont care about taking a 15 minute ride in shanghai's (unfriendly at best) subway then this is a good suggestion. This place was welcome for me since i had... more This is quite a good little place for the price. i went alone and so had to pay the supplement but if you are travelling with someone and you dont care about taking a 15 minute ride in shanghai's (unfriendly at best) subway then this is a good suggestion. This place was welcome for me since i had been travelling around for 2 weeks in dorms and night trains so it was heaven to get my own room for a few days. the service is pretty good as far as China is concerned. i never got chance to try the food so i couldnt tell you about that. I would recommend this place to both families and travellers just cos it appeals to both groups. thank youclose
