A very good hostel, friendly atmosphere and easy to meet people, clean and comfortable. Its about a 15min walk to the nearest subway (Nanjing road east line 2) and about the same to the Bund. The guest kitchen is more like a guest sink and fridge and could really do with a toaster at the very least!

I've stayed here twice and I'm planning to return here again soon. It's only about 5 minutes walk from The Bund and Nanjing East Road, so there's always plenty to do. Recommended.close

My rating for security was the lowest because during our stay there was a Fire, the issue was solved nicely and quickly but just keep an eye on fires during summer, it happened to us!!!close

Well-organized hostel in a good location. I stayed in the dorm in May with my 3 friends. Room was newly renovated and clean. Generally it's a great quality for that price. The only weak point was the room had window only towards the corridor and it took long time the clothes got dried.

The whole place reeks of smoke! You enter the front door at night and the smoke from the bar area engulfs you immediately. The couches are kind of mangy, too and could use replacing. Otherwise very comfortable. Lovely staff.

The hot water wasn't working (Jul08), but it was no pb, as it was too hot in Sh anyway. My locker was broken on arrival, but they fixed it immediately. Nice, helpful staff, wrote me a little note to help buy a train ticketclose

This place is amazing. I stayed there several times throught a year span and each time was great. There's a group that live in the city that plan nights out on the town on the weekends.

The building itself has some nice architectural features and the are some great street-food locations near buy as well as heaps of little eats just over the river to the North. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the place was kept really clean and lovely. The bunks were comfortable in nice air-conned rooms. Sadly there seems a choice between either window (thus daylight) or a shower. The worst aspect is the kitchen. It's quite shockingly poor with no utensils to use, nor plate or bowls nor a kettle (though hot tea water is available upstairs). It was pretty much useless except for cooling beers in the fridge.close

Very good hostel in a great location, our 6 bed dorm was spacious, with large beds and the staff helped with any queries we put there way (ordering taxis, directions etc...). Good bar area with decent cheap food and free dvds for lazy nights.

I stayed in both twin and double room, both the rooms smells of sewage for the first 30mins in the room. The attached toilet smells of sewage all the time. Lobby turns into a bar at night, kinda noisy.

the place has good character and the staff were helpful and useful... the bar was a nice chill out spot. my only downside was the communal showers had an odd drainage aroma, but were acceptable for the price.

Good location as it is a short way to the Bund and quite near the city center. We managed only to get a cheap room without windows, but it had a ventilator fan and airconditioning. Internet is available and there is a steady flow of back-packers.

We stayed one week in the double w private bathroom and the bed was comfy and the room had ample space, altho a tad pricey, even for a big city.
