It seemed like an ok place, I got there late at night and left early in the morning so I don't know about fun or location in relation to all the fun stuff to do in Shanghai though. All in all a good place.

they changed the price after we arrived, which wasn't cool. bathrooms were super clean, although water pressure was rubbish. don't think id really stay here again, to far away from the bund and shopping areas.

I must have zapped well over 75 of them that were everywhere from in the fridge to behind and under the bed. Not sure whether the room needs all the junk (electro magnetic oven? and microwave) where they like to hide out. The hostel is quite new though and not that bad although the bugs and cleanliness is unacceptable.close

I paid a large deposit to book 11 nights at the hostel by Credit Card before I went to China but I didn't receive this deposit back. I'd like to know if you will credit my MasterCard with this deposit and if not, why not?

The location is far from the city but a ten minute walk to the subway which is so easy to use. The rooms are like old hotel rooms with a fridge and microwave. The water pressure is really bad and the internet is cheaper at the int cafe next door. Are going back for sure.

Looked and sounded good on the net but water pressure was terrible in shower and there was construction going on while we were there - starting at 7 in the morning. Didn't make for a good experience. Also, the location is quite far from the centre of town and taxi costs could add up. Very...

i had a terrible time staying at this hostel, there were enginering works that started at 7am every morning. we confronted the staff about it every day and they kept telling us that the work would be finished that day. i would never go back here.

Great for older travelers and/or couples, as all the rooms are basically like small efficiencies. If you don't mind walking a bit, the location near Jingan area is great.

Koala was very nice hostel. The location was a bit far from the city center and sometimes taking the Metro was a bit long, but the people and the rooms really made up for it. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were clean but the see through bathrooms made for awkward moments at times.

Really comfortable, large room; free internet, TV and towels in the room available; freezer/fridge, microwave and hotplates in a small kitchen in the room too; about 5 to 10 min walk to the next metrostation; cheap and good breakfast; other snacks (pizza, etc.) offered too (not tried)

Bathrooms should all be equipped with privacy shades. Other than that, it is an exceptionally nice place to stay, and I like the neighborhood and the "cool" architecture of the place.
