Staff is helpful and welcoming. Location is authentic - you're in a real Shanghai neighborhood with lots of local flavor. The hostel's food is good, but you can get better deals 10 meters out the door. No outside food and drinks in the lounge, but it's still cheaper than an American bar. Good mix of people. I've stayed here twice, and I'd do it again.close

Great hostel. Clean, comfortable beds, good showers, decent food, quick internet. Everything you'd ask for. Bilingual staff too, very impressive.

We booked a private room with shared bathroom and got upgraded to a private en suite for the same price as they didnt have the room we booked which was great. It was a bit far out but the metro station is right outside. I will stay here again if my usual hostel is unavailable.

The hostel was clean, and the staff tried to assist, but the drinks that they sell there are 3X as much as you would pay across the street. If you bring outside drinks into the common area, you are told to get rid of it. We purchased food from the hostel and were told that we couldn't eat it in the common area because the odour was strong. Decent bedroomclose

A nice well located place, very clean. the girls on the desk were very very helpful. It looks overstaffed if anything, but this may be the Chinese way. Didn't try the food, can't comment.

The hostel was easy to find - it's very close to the subway station. It had a weird vibe, but otherwise was ok.

Mildly annoying but I'd still recommend the hostel for being clean and comfortable and stuff.close

Very clean hostel, the common room is good with DVDs, free pool, books and free internet. Its a shame you can't bring your own drinks in though, as the ones they sell are a bit expensive.

The location is not as great as I thought it would be. You have to take a subway to get anywhere, but there is a subway stop right outside.

Fantastic hostel, amazing value for money - has all the little touches that make a difference - massive lockers in the rooms, individual reading lamps, a little shelf for each bunk and two (!) power points per bunk. Staff were lovely. Will be back.

I stayed at the Blue Mountain for a couple of nights on the 6th and 7th September 08. The rooms were very clean and spacious and the staff were helpful. The price was pretty cheap too. I will go back there if i return to Shanghai. Cheers. Danny Aldous

Not really there long enough to form a proper opinion, but it was adequate in most departments without being special in any. Great location for the subway, which is first class.

We stayed in a hostel for the three nights and were satisfied with the room, cleanliness and the location. The subway station was across the street which was very convenient to move around. Recommended.

I was disappointed, because I had booked early on Hostel World , but then I get a room without windows, because all the others were already occupied. Room without windows I find very unpleasant. It's like a panic room.

Very Clean Bathrooms, bedding. Felt like I was in a safe location and if you don't mind a metro-ride, the quiet and relaxation it offers after a day touring the city can't be beat. All in all, definitely worth the price.
