The city was filthy, but cheap. The people were aight but many seem to think they were victims in the wars of the 90's. Many believe what they did was OK, and hail Milosovic as a hero and a "Son of Serbia"! I guess genocide isn't that big of a moral issue for those people. close

I spent a lovely day chilling out at the citadel and the ramparts having a couple of drinks in all the cool bars up there. Also had a great lunch (good value for money) in the Movie Bar in the centre of the town. Staff at some of the other places we ate were quite rude however (maybe this is just the Belgradian way) but it is also clear that the city is not ready for tourists just yet. Unfortunately the poor hostel I stayed at tainted my view of this city and its people from the start. After the mad welcome I got everyone else seemed a bit crazy too!!! close
