The staff were helpful and the breakfast buffet was nice too -though didnt try the haggis! thought it was a little expensive for what it was.close

The foyer is very small, but I wasn't sleeping there so it didn't matter. The room I was in was very spacious and well laid out. They have a good bar and the restaurant is fine.
The only point of question/amusement is the emphasis on the "selection of CD's available at the reception". Twice it was pointed out to me that they would select something to "suit my mood" (I was in the mood to get drunk but they didn't have anything suitable as it wasn't "that type of hotel" :-). A little on the pretentious side for what is an otherwise very good hotel.
I will definitely stay here again the next Time I'm in Edinburgh.
Word of warning though, it is a little away from the city centre, but located in the new Docklands area which more than makes up for it.close
