We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Links Hotel. The service was excellent and we were plesantly surprised by the standard of the bar/lounge area which was lovely. The rooms are what you pay for and fulfilled my expectations of basic but perfectly ok for 1 night. If I were to return to Edinburgh... more We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Links Hotel. The service was excellent and we were plesantly surprised by the standard of the bar/lounge area which was lovely. The rooms are what you pay for and fulfilled my expectations of basic but perfectly ok for 1 night. If I were to return to Edinburgh I would definatly consider staying at the Links again because it is very good value for money and the location is convienient.close

the hotel has great bar and food, room was large size, poor reception although freindly staff made up for it, great with directions to local landmarks. which are all close by. lovely place would stat again. Parking is on the street, costlly 25p/15mins 0800-1730

Curb appeal could do with improving, front door needs painting and reception area could do with tidying up and path leading to hotel door, clearing of the broken bottles from the bar next door (and also remove the broken picture frame in the flower bed) Bannisters and stairs carpet very badly... more Curb appeal could do with improving, front door needs painting and reception area could do with tidying up and path leading to hotel door, clearing of the broken bottles from the bar next door (and also remove the broken picture frame in the flower bed) Bannisters and stairs carpet very badly stained, however once inside the room, it was clean and nicely decorated. The 1million refurbishment had obviously been mainly carried out in the bar which was fantastic. Staff very nice though and could not do enough for you, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast really nice with choice of cooked or cereals etc. This is a nice hotel and all that is required is for the company to spend a little money to keep it nice rather than expecting the staff to DIY it.close

Very friendly and helpful staff, with excellent bar and food available. Very good value for money and an easy pleasent walk to the city center.

Only had a pub meal (good) as they did not have our reservation on file; they sent us to Ettrick Hotel with a discount and free cab ride. There are so many other places to stay closer to Old and New town: Links is too far away from the action! Look for B&B's: there are HEAPS of them.
