Conveniently located outside city on bus route to city centre, 10-15 min trip to Princes Street, bus stops out front. Only £5 taxi trip from Waverly train station. Enjoyed heated room, adequate breakfast, free internet. Staff friendly, not too proficient in English; but plenty of tourist info...

I was put into a room in the flat opposite and felt very insecure. I was given no emergency contact details, and no 'direct dial' telephone was available. I was told by the woman that my room was self catering when I was under the impression I had booked B&B! She said there was no need for me to come across the road in the morning and to leave the keys and towel in the room which I thought was very strange indeed! The room had a double and a single in it, when i booked only a single. There was access to a private bathroom, but when i arrive the doors were all unlocked so anyone could have walked into my room, via the kitchen! Although locking these rooms would have compromised fire safety. There was a dodgy looking extension cable running from the TV. There were mucky pots in the kitchens! This was not what I had expected! Tea and coffee facilities consisted of a jar of coffee some tea bags and UHTcreamer in the fridge. No milk. The only good thing was the location!close

We loved staying here. So much nicer than a hostel. Very homely and comfy and full Scottish breakfast was a bonus. Good position, can walk to Royal mile in 20mins or the bus stops right outside and runs every 10mins. Will definitely stay again when we return to Edinburgh.

It seemed as though they were in the midst of DIY on the room, particularly the bathroom. I didn't spend much time in the room because I was out exploring, so it suited my needs but I probably would not return.close

Generally okay, but returned to our room on the second night to find the door open/unlocked. Mould in the shower and a bit of a mystery smell in the ensuite. Bus services are convenient to the city centre.

Perfectible; des aménagements complémentaires seraient bienvenus (ex.: verre à dent, essuie main dans salle d'eau, shampoing, porte serviette dans la chambre...)

Very clean, nicely appointed rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were there in the midst of a heat wave and the rooms were very hot - a fan would have been nice - however, apart from that, I would recommend the Drumorne and would consider staying there again myself. Good breakfast.

we stayed for a week and it would have been nice to have had the towels changed. Also the folding door in the shower room sticked and a shelf above the wash basin would have been good, as there was nowhere to put toiletries. Otherwise the owner was very pleasant and helpful.

No community room so no interaction. False advertisement of facilities: no off road parking, no laundry, no restaurant just a breakfast room for breakfast only. Otherwise as stated.

Also the bathroom was private to us it was not an integral part of the room and was not very clean, the mats for the shower were gruby and the switch for the water supply for the shower was outside the room very impractical if you were on your own. The shower cubicle was very slippery after using shampoo and there was a small step which this was dangerous for my mother who is in her seventies, perhaps non slip mat on the base of the shower would be a good idea. This was advertised with restaurant and parking facilities which was not available. Also the hotel was a fair way from the centre, the bus service was frequent and good. Breakfast was good. It seems that the guest house is undergoing some renovations but the room we had was quiet because it was overlooking onto a side road, rooms on the Willowbrea road might have been noisier because the traffic is busy.close
