Lovely staff. Not a great location if you have to walk, but right in front of a bus stop from town. I know it's a bit unfair, but it can feel like a school camp with the 'do not do this' signs everywhere, the spring loaded taps so you don't have long showers, the same sex dorms, the lock out times... I really wonder what that actually achieves except makes people feel like they are 12 years old again and on school camp (but all YHA hostels are like this).close

Good place to stay for the night, staff were friendly, rooms were clean. It's location wouldn't be very central, but its only about a 25min walk to Union street, the main shopping street. Doors close at 2am&theres a night porter that lets you in, if you ring the bell a few times.

Nothing bad about the area but 30-40min walk from the center and when it is raining it feels like a long walk.

This hostel was just a ways out of town and even further from where I was traveling to the most- the University (of Aberdeen). It is a nice place though but I am at Journeys in London and it is pretty dope.

Everything was broken, dirty / smelly, under construction or just not there. We didnt even have a plug in our room. There was one shower for a complete level of the house. I will never go there again.

Staff didn't honor booking from HostelWorld, claiming that this hostel hadn't been listed on HostelWorld in months and that they'd been booked up with school groups since the beginning of the year. Bad times.

The Aberdeen youth hostel refused to honour the rates promised by hostelworld.com. On producing the booking printout, they said that we can get in only if we pay the increased rates.

Not as comfortable as I would expect (spring jabbing me in the ribs at night) and a bit on the expensive side.

Toilet and shower facilities could do with an overhaul but they were very clean. Secure lockers or safety deposit boxes for passports etc would be highly appreciated.

The personal, not all, but somea few stupid, not fun at all...and in my opinion, it is not like the others hostels that I have been, the toilets do not have heating and if you are young, the majority of the people is old.
